Speak YouTube Subtitles does not collect or share any personal data. The extension works entirely on your device:

• Local Storage: Stores user preferences (e.g., voice selection, speech rate, pitch) locally via chrome.storage.sync .

• No Personal Data: We never access your YouTube account, watch history, or external data.

3. Permissions

The extension requests these permissions for core functionality:

• activeTab : Detects and reads YouTube captions only when you activate the extension.

• storage : Saves your settings (e.g., voice, speed) locally.

• Host permissions ( youtube.com ): Required to interact with YouTube’s caption system.
  Permissions are used only for the stated features and nothing else.

4. Third-Party Services

Speak YouTube Subtitles does not use:

• Analytics, ads, or tracking tools.

• External servers or cloud storage.

• APIs beyond YouTube’s public interface and Chrome’s built-in speechSynthesis .
  All processing happens locally in your browser.

5. Data Security

• Local-Only Operation: Your settings and speech data never leave your device.

• No Risks: Since no data is collected, there is zero risk of leaks or breaches.

6. User Control

You retain full control:

• Adjust or disable speech anytime via the popup.

• Uninstall the extension to remove all local settings.
