In January 2025 we started adding new AI features designed to improve productivity and innovation in organizations with Google Workspace Business and Enterprise editions. Previously these features were included in Google Workspace with Gemini add-ons.
As part of this transition, the following add-ons are no longer available for purchase:
- Gemini Business
- Gemini Enterprise
- AI Meetings and Messaging
- AI Security
The Google AI Pro for Education add-on, previously Gemini Education and Gemini Education Premium, remains available to educational organizations.

Which AI features are coming to my organization?
The AI features available to your organization depend on Google Workspace edition. Highlights include:
- Gemini in the side panel of Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, and Chat —Get AI assistance directly in the flow of your work.
- Help me write in Gmail and Docs —Quickly compose professional emails and documents.
- Take notes for me in Meet —Automatically capture meeting notes so you can focus on the conversation.
- Gemini —Chat with Google’s next-gen AI to kickstart learning, brainstorming, and planning with the Gemini app on your laptop or mobile device. Use Gems to build a team of AI experts to help with repeatable tasks or tackle complex projects — including coding, deep research, and data analysis.
- NotebookLM —Accelerate team knowledge sharing by uploading your sources to get instant insights and podcast-like Audio Overviews. This enhanced version offers notebook customization, advanced sharing and usage analytics, and increased Audio Overviews, queries, notebooks, and sources.
- Gemini in AppSheet—Use Gemini for App Creation to build apps by describing a business process or idea in natural language. Use Gemini in AppSheet Solutions to add AI tasks in automations to extract and categorize information from images and documents.

Can I control access to these features?
Admins and end users have the following options to control AI settings:
- You can manage access to Gemini features in Workspace services (Enterprise editions only).
- You can turn access to the Gemini app (gemini.google.com) on or off. (Note: this has no effect on other AI features in Google Workspace services.)
- You can turn off NotebookLM on or off as an additional service .
- You can turn access to Google Vids on or off .
- You can control whether users let Google AI take notes in meetings .
- You can turn Google Workspace smart features on or off .
- Users can control smart features in Google products .
- You can turn Gemini for App Creation or Gemini in AppSheet Solutions on or off.
Your existing Google Workspace data protections are automatically applied to AI features .
How does Google protect my data?
Your privacy is our priority
We want to be completely clear that generative AI does not change our foundational privacy protections that give you choice and control over your data:
- Your interactions with Gemini stay within your organization. Gemini does not share your content outside your organization without your permission.
- Your existing Google Workspace protections are automatically applied.Gemini brings the same enterprise-grade security as the rest of Google Workspace.
- Your content is not used for any other customers.Your content is not human reviewed or used for Generative AI model training outside your domain without permission.
