Use a template & add a background in Google Vids

• If you’re building a video using “ Help me create ,” templates will be suggested based on the prompt and any supporting documents you’ve added.
• The placeholder text for templates is in English only for all Vids users at this time.

Create a new video with a template

You can create a new video from a template.

Add a template to a video

You can add a template or an individual scene from a template to an existing video.

1. On your computer, open Google Vids .
2. Click File Open Select video.
3. On the right, in the sidebar, click Templates.
4. To narrow your template search, use filters.
   • Sort by Function, Design Style, Color, or Industry.
5. Select the preferred template.
6. A copy of the template opens in the side panel.
   • To add all scenes from the template, click Insert all scenes.
   • To add scenes individually, click the scene you want to add.

Change colors and fonts of your template

You can change the colors or fonts across your template using the Styles side panel.

1. On your computer, open a video in Google Vids .
2. In the toolbar, click Customize Stylesor in the menu bar, select SceneStyles.
3. To update the font color, on the right, in the "Styles side panel," click on the color or text you want to update.
4. Optional: To customize new shapes in your scenes, click New objects and scenes.

Change the background of your scene

A background is the picture or color behind your scene’s content. You can change the background color of one scene or all the scenes in a video.

1. On your computer, open Google Vids .
2. Select a video.
3. Choose a scene by selecting the scene in the timeline at the bottom of your canvas.
   • To add a background image.
     1. In your canvas, right-click an image.

     2. Click Set image as background.
        1. To remove a background image, right-click the background.
        2. Click Detach image from background.
   • To add a background color:
     1. In the menu, click SceneBackground.
        • Or, right-click on the canvasBackground.
     2. Select a color:
        1. To add a custom color, under "Custom," click Add.
        2. Select a hex code.
           • Or, adjust the color, hue, or transparency.
        3. Click OK.
