When you make a call:

  • If both Wi-Fi and cellular networks are available, Google Fi routes the call over the network that gives you the best experience.
  • If your Wi-Fi connection weakens or drops, Google Fi automatically switches the call to a cellular network. This maintains your conversation without interruption.

Tips:

  • To check Wi-Fi calling rates from outside the US, go to Call Phones calling rates .
  • If you encounter issues with Wi-Fi calls, make sure the Carrier Services app is updated.
    • To check, search for “Carrier Services" in Google Play, and tap Update.

Go back to the Google Fi Learning Center .
