Product Linking: Link your Google Business Profile to Google Ads

Google has updated the setup, management and termination experience of location links and the Google Business Profile within Google Ads. Learn more about Google Business Profile .

Before you begin

With location assets, your ads can display information such as your address, a map to your location, or the distance to your business to help people find your stores. People can then select or tap your location when shown with your final ad to get further details about your location on your location page, which includes the most relevant business information all in one place.


Link your Google Business Profile during the new onboarding experience

From the information provided at the start of the onboarding, if we detect a Google Business Profile for an advertiser, we will offer it for selection.

Identified accounts

All identified Google products will be highlighted after navigating to the "Add business information", and then selecting Linked accounts. In order to connect identified accounts follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Select Link, then select the Searchbox. A dropdown will appear with pre-populated accounts.
  2. You can perform the following actions:
    • Select identified accounts.
    • Search for accounts to select.
  3. Select the account you want to link.
  4. Select Next, review your selection, select Link, and then select Done.

You will be returned to the "Link Accounts" in the "Add Business Information" section where you can add additional identified or unidentified accounts.

Note: If more than 5 properties per product are identified, the identified properties will be visible once you select into the search box.

Unidentified accounts

All other Google products can be selected in the About the Businesssection under Optional: Connect other apps and accounts. In order to connect unidentified accounts follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Select Add. A dropdown will appear with a search box.
  2. In the Search box, enter the Channel URL (YouTube), account ID (Merchant Center), App ID, or Phone Number.
  3. Follow the workflow, and then select Done.

You will be returned to the ‘Link Accounts’ in the ‘Add Business Information’ section where you can add additional identified or unidentified accounts.


Link your Google Business Profile

Link to any Business Profile

  1. Go to Assets within the CampaignsCampaigns Iconmenu.
  2. Select the plus button, and then select Location.
  3. Select Our locations, and then select Continue.
  4. Your domain should show up automatically. If it doesn’t, enter a domain to discover potential Business Profiles.
  5. Select Countriesby selecting the pencil iconPencil icon / edit icon. Then, select Save.
  6. In the list below, find the Business Profile that best matches your business, then select Save.
  7. Confirm that the correct Business Profile is showing in the preview, then select Continue.

Your request will be sent to the email address for the Business Profile you selected. When your request is approved, locations for that account will be eligible to show as location assets with your ads.


Link to a Business Profile you manage

  1. Go to Assets within the CampaignsCampaigns Iconmenu.
  2. Select the plus button, and then select Location.
  3. Select Our locations, and select Continue.
  4. Select Link to a Business Profile Manager account I know.
  5. Choose Select a Business Profile that I manage. Select an account from the dropdown.
  6. Select Continue.
  7. Apply your business name or label filters if needed. Select Save.

Manage Google Business Profile links

  1. Go to Data Managerwithin the ToolsTools Iconmenu.
  2. Under "Connected products", find "Google Business Profile", then select Manage & linkfor new links.
  3. You will see all Linked Business Profiles, pending invitations.
    • If the locations are being used in active location assets a View Location Assetsbutton will appear in the action column, next to Manage.
Note: To view all your location assets, unlink and relink your Google Business Profile. This removes any applied filters. You’ll preserve all your data, like stats and location links to campaigns, during this process.

Unlink Google Business Profile links

  1. Go to Data Managerwithin the ToolsTools Iconmenu.
  2. Under "Connected products", find "Google Business Profile", then select Manage & linkfor new links.
  3. Select the account that you want to unlink from your Google Ads account by selecting Managein the Actioncolumn.
  4. In the Slidealog, select Unlinkand follow the steps to unlink the account.
Note: If the assets are actively used you can remove the Location assets before you can unlink the account.

You can remove location assets by following these instructions:

  1. Go to Assets within the CampaignsCampaigns Iconmenu.
  2. Select Location.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the asset you’d like to remove, and select Remove.
  4. You’ll be asked to acknowledge that the removal of the assets will remove them from specific campaigns or ad groups that they’re associated with.
  5. Select Confirm.
