About integrating deep links with Google Analytics

Google Analytics helps you better understand your customer journeys by collecting event-based data from your websites and apps. Within Google Analytics, you can create business insight reports and use predictive capabilities that help improve performance of your business’s advertising. You can also integrate with media platforms to help drive actions on your app or website.

Google Analytics recommendations for your deep linking

Within Google Analytics, you can use deep linking tools, which may appear in the “Recommendations” section of your Google Analytics homepage.

Missing deep links

You’ll receive this recommendation to implement missing deep links with a downloadable report of ad URLS that represent missed conversions.

The requirements to receive this recommendation include:

Misconfigured deep links

You’ll receive this recommendation if you have deep links that need to be fixed and will receive a downloadable report of your app’s broken deep links. The deep links with the highest user engagement on mobile web traffic will be ranked highest on the report.

The requirements to receive this recommendation with engagement data include:

  • Your Google Ads account is linked to your Google Analytics property
  • You have an active app data stream
  • You have an active web stream setup for the domain(s) you deep link into your app within the same Google Analytics property
Note: If your report is missing engagement data, it is because you don’t have an active web stream setup in your Analytics property and Google Analytics cannot observe the mobile web traffic associated with the deep links.
