[For US and CA]

On this page

Why this issue is happening

For one or more of your products, there is a mismatch between the VIN [VIN] , brand [brand] , and model  [model]  attribute values provided in your product data source and the corresponding values on your vehicle description page. If these mismatches aren't corrected, your account may be suspended.

You should have received an email asking you to update your product data by a certain date so that the values in your data are consistent with those on your vehicle description page.

How to fix your issue.

To resolve this issue, you must ensure the values of the VIN [VIN] , brand [brand] , and model  [model] attributes in your product data source match the corresponding values on your vehicle description page. Learn more about Required attributes for vehicle ads .

Note: The VIN  [VIN] attribute is only required if you are selling vehicles in Australia, Canada or the United States.

Ensure that the VIN  [VIN] , brand [brand] , and model  [model] attribute values in your product data source matches with your vehicle description page

Investigate your update process to check what could be causing the problem:

  1. Check the warning email for examples of products that are affected.
    • Look for common problems in your product data that could cause these mismatched attributes.
    • Make sure you update your vehicle description page and product data at the same time.
    • Schedule an upload or use the Content API to immediately update your product data. This scheduling helps make sure Google has the same data as is on your vehicle description page.
  2. Ensure that the vehicle identification number VIN [VIN] attribute is 17 digits and is unique for each vehicle.
  3. Use the model [model] attribute only to submit the model of the car. For example, submit “Model” and not “Model deluxe" or “Model standard”.
  4. Use the trim [trim] attribute to add trim information of the vehicle. For example, for a vehicle model known as “One” and a trim value as “B”, specify “One” in the model [model] attribute and “B” in the trim [trim] attribute.
  5. Make sure your brand [brand] attribute indicates the make of the car.

Resubmit your product data
