Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) is the largest botanical garden in Canada, a National Historic Site, and registered charitable organization with a mandate to bring together people, plants and nature.

Part of the Niagara Escarpment UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, RBG plays a vital role in the Greater Hamilton region, protecting and preserving 1,100 hectares of environmentally sensitive areas, including 900 hectares of nature sanctuaries to improve the ecosystem from Lake Ontario to the Niagara Escarpment.

By cultivating stunning display gardens which focus on our local landscape, providing educational opportunities for classrooms here and abroad and hosting tours and events showcasing our vital conservation projects, the Gardens carries out its commitment to nurturing people’s bond with the planet, thereby fostering a sense of responsibility in its protection and preservation.
