Products and performance

GFiber offers three lifestyle internet products tailored to how you live: Core 1 Gig is our original, reliable cornerstone for foundational needs; Home 3 Gig is the lifeblood of the modern, multi-tasking connected home; and Edge 8 Gig provides a boundary-defying, no-limit experience for power users and tech enthusiasts.

GFiber prides itself on a proactive approach to reliability. In the event of a prolonged or uniquely severe "extraordinary" outage, GFiber has a standard process to automatically issue credits.  In addition, GFiber is built on a pure fiber-optic network that uses light to transmit data, resulting in highly direct performance. Our on-net latency is better than the industry average. 1 GFiber even offers a 99.9% Uptime Guarantee (UGA) for customers on the Edge 8 Gig or Business 2 Gig products. 2 If the 99.9% uptime is not met, eligible customers receive an uptime guarantee credit of 25% of their monthly recurring charge.  Technical details of the UGA
  • Downtime definition: A total loss of signal after completion of construction and installation.
  • Exclusions: The guarantee does not cover downtime caused by scheduled maintenance, commercial power outages, or hardware/software issues on the customer side.

No. GFiber does not have data caps, overage charges, or speed throttling. Use as much as you need.

  • Encryption & Security: GFiber routers use WPA2/WPA3 encryption, and the network supports secure protocols, including options to configure advanced settings like DMZ and port forwarding.
  • Network Management: The GFiber App allows users to manage network settings, change passwords, and monitor connected devices.
  • Guest Access: Users can create separate guest network access to protect the main network.
  • Account Protection: GFiber uses account PIN codes, passkeys (fingerprint/face scan), and secure notification preferences to protect customer accounts.
  • Infrastructure Security: Fiber-optic cables are generally immune to electromagnetic interference and difficult to tap, providing improved physical security.

GFiber offers free self install and professional installation. For professional installation, a technician will visit your home to install the Fiber Jack (if there isn’t one already) and equipment, typically completing the process in about two hours. If your home had GFiber in the past (even with a previous occupant), you may be eligible for self-installation.
