You can take a picture (screenshot) of your Pixel phone and tablet's screen. After you capture your screen, you can view, edit, and share the image or video.
Important:
- Some of these steps work only on Android 11 and up. Learn how to check your Android version .
- To improve battery performance on Pixel 6 and later, check battery diagnostics:
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- Tap Battery Battery diagnostics.
How to take a screenshot on your Pixel phone or tablet
- Open the screen that you want to capture.
- Press the Powerand Volume downbuttons at the same time.
- Your device will take a picture of the screen and save it.
- At the bottom left, you'll find a preview of your screenshot.
Tip:You can also say, "Hey Google, take a screenshot" to capture your screen.
Take a scrolling screenshot
- Open the screen that you want to capture.
- Press the Powerand Volume downbuttons at the same time.
- At the bottom, tap Capture more.
- To select the content you want to capture, use the crop guidelines.
Take a screenshot without buttons
Depending on your navigation, you can take a screenshot without buttons. Learn how to change your navigation .

Gesture navigation:From the bottom of the screen, swipe up and hold. Choose an open app to screenshot. Tap Screenshot.
- 3-button navigation:Tap Overview. Choose an open app to screenshot. Tap Screenshot.
- 2-button navigation (Pixel 3a & earlier):Press the Powerbutton. Tap Screenshot.
How to find, share, and edit your screenshot
To find a screenshot you just took, tap the preview of your screenshot.

- Open the Photos app

- At the bottom, tap Collections

- To share a screenshot,tap Share.
- To edit a screenshot,tap Edit.

How to translate your screenshot (Pixel 3 & later, including Fold & Pixel Tablet)

- On your device, go to the website or app you want to translate.
