This Privacy Policy explains the data practices for the Clear Cache Chrome extension ("the Extension"). We are committed to transparency and user privacy.
We believe in data minimization. The Clear Cache Chrome extension is designed to respect your privacy by not collecting personal information. Specifically, we do not collect, store, or process:
Your name, email address, or contact information.
Your payment or financial details.
Your browsing history, the URLs of pages you visit, or the content of any web pages.
Any form of government identifier.
Information about other apps or extensions you use.
To maintain and improve stability, performance, and feature quality, the Extension sends limited, non-personal usage and diagnostic data to Google Analytics 4 (GA4) via Google's Measurement Protocol.
We do not collect your name, email, browsing history, page URLs, page content, form data, or payment information through this analytics system.
A randomly generated, pseudonymous client identifier stored locally in the extension (used only to distinguish installs for aggregate statistics).
Session identifiers and basic engagement timestamps required by GA4.
Product usage events, including:
When a cache/data cleanup runs (success or failure) and how it was triggered (e.g., toolbar icon, keyboard shortcut, context menu, startup, scheduled, idle, tab close, or options page).
Which categories of browser data were selected for clearing (e.g., cache, cookies, history) — category names only, never the actual data or URLs.
Non-identifying configuration metadata active at the time of cleanup (e.g., clear scope type, time-range bucket, notification preference, automation toggles, and counts such as number of whitelisted or specific-domain entries).
When the in-extension operation log viewer is opened.
Error and crash diagnostics: error type/name and a sanitized error message (URLs removed, length limited).
URLs of websites you visit.
Contents of cache, cookies, history, or other browsing data.
Whitelist or domain list contents (only counts may be sent).
Your identity or contact information.
Analytics data is processed by Google as a service provider. The Extension does not attach IP addresses to events; Google may still process standard connection information when receiving analytics requests, as described in Google's privacy documentation.
We use this data only to understand feature usage, diagnose errors, and improve reliability. We do not use it for advertising or marketing.
Data is retained according to our Google Analytics property settings (typically up to 14 months for event data).
There is currently no in-extension setting to disable analytics.
The anonymous information described above is used for one primary purpose: to analyze the performance and stability of the Extension so we can fix bugs, prevent crashes, and improve its reliability. We do not use this data for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose.
We do not sell, rent, or trade user data.
The anonymous analytics data is processed by Google Analytics under strict confidentiality obligations. We do not disclose this data to any other third parties. Since we do not collect personal information, no user data would be involved in any potential business transfer, sale, or merger.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices. The "Last Updated" date at the top will indicate when revisions were made. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
