Verify a test deposit from Google

To receive payments by EFT , you need to verify your bank account using a test deposit. A test deposit is a small amount (usually less than $1) sent by Google to your bank account. This is a standard security measure to confirm that the bank account you've added is valid and accessible before we send any actual payments. It is not related to any purchase or service charge, and the deposit amount typically remains in your account. You can check if you've received it by accessing your bank statement or contacting your local bank.

The test deposit may take 1-5 business days to appear in your bank statement. Please wait for the actual amount to be deposited in your bank account before attempting to enter it in your AdSense account. Ensure your bank account details are correctly entered in your AdSense account to avoid delays. Watch this video to review the process of adding EFT and verifying the test deposit.

After you receive your test deposit, follow these steps to verify your bank account:

  1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
  2. Click Payments, then Payments info.

You'll have a red alert in your AdSense account.

  3. Click Manage payment methods.
  4. Click Verify now.
  5. In the drop-down menu, select the test deposit amount that you received in your bank statement.
  6. Click Verify.

If the amounts match, your bank account is verified. You're now ready to receive payments by EFT.

Test deposit FAQs

Here are answers to some questions you may have about test deposits:

What if I haven't received my test deposit after 10 working days?

If you don’t receive your test deposit after 10 working days, it's likely that you've provided incorrect bank account details. In this case, we advise you to:

  1. Contact your bank to make sure you have the correct bank account details.
  2. Add a new payment method with your updated bank account details, set it as your primary payment method, and wait for your test deposit.
  3. Remove your old payment details.

Is there any way to verify my bank account without a test deposit?

No. Your bank account needs to be verified with a test deposit before we can send you an actual payment. This is a precaution for security reasons, to make sure that your payment reaches you.

Note: You don’t need to verify your account with a test deposit in the following countries or territories: Bulgaria, Gibraltar, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Romania, and South Africa.

Where can I find my test deposit?

Depending on which country your bank is located, the test deposit appears in your bank account under one of the following labels:

  • AFS RE GOOGLE
  • AFS RE GOOGLE ADSENSE
  • ARVATO FINANCE SERVICES LIMITED
  • BFS FINANCE LTD
  • CITIBANK IRELAND FINANCIAL SERVICES
  • Google AdSense Payment

I received a test a deposit but I still can’t verify my bank account. What should I do?

If you received your test deposit but haven't been able to successfully verify your bank account, here are some common reasons and solutions:

  • Incorrect amount entered:Double-check your bank statement for the exact amount of the deposit from "Google LLC" or a similar sender name. Ensure you are entering this precise amount. If your bank applied a commission or fee, this might alter the amount you see. Contact your bank to confirm the original deposit amount before any fees were applied, and then enter that amount in your AdSense account.
  • Incorrect bank account details:Ensure the bank account details (account number, routing number, etc.) in your AdSense account perfectly match your bank records. If there's a mismatch, you'll need to remove the incorrect payment method and add it again with the correct information, which will trigger a new test deposit.
  • Verification attempts exceeded: You attempted to enter your test deposit the maximum of three times and you've been blocked from entering it again. Contact AdSense support to help you resolve this issue.
  • Browser issues:Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, using a different web browser, or opening an incognito/private browsing window to attempt the verification again.
