Set up TRUENDO to obtain user consent

To capture valuable insights while protecting user privacy, you need to collect consent from your website users. We recommend you use a Consent Management Platform (CMP) or work with your Content Management System (CMS) to collect consent and send it to Google.

Step 1 of 2: Set up a consent banner

Sign up at TRUENDO and configure your banner.
Be sure your banner complies with the requirements in the Google EU User Consent Policy (EUUCP) .

Step 2 of 2: Set up consent mode

Set up using Google Tag Manager

Open Google Tag Manager and navigate to your container.
In "Tags", select Newand name the tag.
Select Tag Configuration> Discover more tag types in the Community Template Gallery.
From the gallery, search for "TRUENDO Cookie Consent Management" by truendo-tech.
Add the template to your workspace, then select it.
In TRUENDO’s tag settings, paste your Site ID
- Navigate to TRUENDO> Banner> Integration via scriptto find your Site ID.
Check "Inject TRUENDO via GTM" and "Enable TRUENDO triggers" if needed.
Select Add> Triggering.
Select Consent Initialization - All Pages.
Select Save.
Test your container by selecting Previewin the top right corner.
Publishyour container.

Set up using another platform or directly from your website’s code

To get your TRUENDO code snippet from the TRUENDO Console, follow the instructions below.

Log in to TRUENDO .
Select your site, and go to Banner> Integration via script.
Copy the corresponding snippet that TRUENDO provides.
On the same screen, select Advanced
Locate "Google Consent Mode Without GTM Settings" and enable this feature. This will insert the Google Consent Mode boilerplate and set default consent settings.
Select Publishin the top right of the TRUENDO console.
- If you use a website builder like Wix, Webflow, or Squarespace, review their documentation on how to insert code in the <head> tag.
Paste the TRUENDO CMP script at the very top of your site’s <head> section.

This is critical in order to ensure the CMP functions properly.
