You can upload and traffic YouTube creatives from Campaign Manager 360 to Display & Video 360 for use on YouTube & partners auction line items. This lets you manage YouTube video assets and reporting in one platform.

If you use Campaign Manager 360 to manage and traffic video creatives, you can upload creatives from your linked advertiser in Campaign Manager 360 for use on Display and Video 360 YouTube & partner line item types. This workflow applies to YouTube & partner efficient reach line items , video view line items , and non-skippable reach line items.

How to upload Campaign Manager 360 hosted videos

  1. Create or Upload Video Creative

    1. Use the existing In-stream videocreative type.
    2. Upload your video asset to create a Campaign Manager 360 creative. This action automatically:
      • Determines the duration and orientation of the video asset.
      • Uploads the video to shared infrastructure with YouTube making it servable by YouTube.
    3. Assign the creative to an ad. A Campaign manager 360 ad can only have a maximum of 1 video asset assigned.
  2. Configure Ad

    1. Set the ad Name and ensure the status is active.
      • Note that delivery properties (Start + End Date/Time) set at the ad level in Campaign Manager 360 will not apply to YouTube serving.
    2. Ensure only one in-stream video creative is assigned to the ad, and that creative only has one video asset.
    3. Creative rotation options and event tags will not work for YouTube serving.
  3. Configure Placement

    1. Select Compatibility: In-stream videofor the placement.
    2. Set a specific duration for the placement (not Any).
    3. Configure "Video skip button settings" at the placement level. These settings will override creative-level skip settings and are required for YouTube eligibility.
    4. In the new "YouTube" collapsible section within placement properties:
      • Select yesthat the placement will be used for YouTube. (This action cannot be undone once saved).
      • Enter the required metadata:
        • Long headline
        • Description
        • Business name
        • Business logo (select a display creative to use as a business logo).
      • Optionally, select a call to action from a dropdown and enter an optional headline.
      • The Display URL will be automatically derived from the landing page URL set under one of the assigned ads.
    5. Ensure at least one standard ad is assigned to the placement (default ads will not sync).
    6. Confirm that all ads under the placement pass validations (max 1 in-stream video asset per ad, each ad has only one landing page and one associated companion banner).
  4. Campaign Manager 360 to Display & Video 360 Creative Sync

The Campaign Manager 360 placement will sync to Display & Video 360 as a Display & Video 360 creative. The sync can take up to 24 hours. To view the synced creatives:

  1. In the left menu, click Creative,then Creatives. On the page that loads, you’ll find the list of creatives added to the advertiser.
  2. Creatives eligible for YouTube can be identified in the table via:
    • Type: Video
    • Format: Video
    • Source: Campaign Manager 360
Note:
  • The YouTube eligibility of the video creative is determined by the information in the Campaign Manager 360 placement.
  • Policy review for the Display & Video creative will be triggered after the sync in Display & Video 360. This process can take up to 24 hours.
  1. Creative Assignment to YouTube Line Item in Display & Video 360

    1. Under a Campaign> Line items, create a YouTube line item and define its objective and subtype.
    2. Create an ad group under the line item.
    3. Within the ad group, select Assign creative.
    4. Choose the eligible Display & Video 360 creative from the table. Eligibility is based on the line item objective and subtype requirements, including:
      • Duration
      • Skippability
      • Required Ad fields (Headline, Long headline, Description, Call to action, Display URL)
      • Companions banner.
      • Note: The creative must pass all checks for the YouTube eligibility in Campaign Manager 360 in order to be eligible for assignment to YouTube & partner line items.
    5. Select the ad and hit Apply.
    6. YouTube specific policy review will be triggered for each underlying YouTube ad.

Upload YouTube creatives to Display & Video 360

There are 2 ways to traffic YouTube creatives for YouTube & partner line items on Display & Video 360. You can use Campaign Manager 360 hosted videos or YouTube hosted videos.

Campaign Manager 360 hosted videos

If you use Campaign Manager 360 to manage and traffic video creatives, you can upload creatives from your linked advertiser in Campaign Manager 360 for use on YouTube & partner line item types in Display and Video 360.

This workflow applies to YouTube Guaranteed deals, YouTube Non-Guaranteed deals, and YouTube & partner efficient reach line items , video view line items , and non-skippable reach line items.

  1. Create or upload video creative to Campaign Manager 360

    1. Follow the steps on how to upload a video creative for use on YouTube & partner line items
  2. Campaign Manager 360 to Display & Video 360 creative sync
    The Campaign Manager 360 placement will sync to Display & Video 360 as a Display & Video 360 creative. The sync can take up to 24 hours. To view the synced creatives:
    1. In the left menu, click Creative,then Creatives. On the page that loads, you’ll find the list of creatives added to the advertiser.
    2. Creatives eligible for YouTube can be identified in the table via:
      • Type: Video
      • Format: Video

      • Skippability

    6. YouTube-specific policy review will be triggered for each underlying YouTube ad.

YouTube hosted videos

You can use existing videos from YouTube for YouTube & partners line items. To create a Campaign Manager 360 creative, you will be required to manually enter required fields as Campaign Manager 360 does not validate YouTube URLs or have visibility into the asset when a URL is entered. Note: For Display & Video 360 to access your YouTube videos, they must be public or unlisted (not private).
