This article provides instructions on how to link and unlink Shopify with your Google Ads account. There are two methods to choose from.
The recommended method is to install and use the Google & YouTube app on Shopify . The app allows you to easily connect and integrate your Shopify account with your Google Ads account so that your Shopify store information, customer lists, and product data are all automatically shared and synced with Google.
Another method is available if you prefer not to use the Google & YouTube app but still want to link your Shopify store data and use Google’s Customer Match to reach and re-engage with your customers. Follow the steps below.
How it works
You can connect Shopify to your Google Ads serving account for Customer Match. Manager accounts (MCCs) are not supported for Customer Match.
Link Shopify and Google Ads
Use the following steps to link to Shopify and Google Ads:
- In your Google Ads account, click the Tools
icon
.
- Click Data manager .
- From the “ Connected products ” tab, scroll down to Featured products.
- Click Search allto find Shopify. After you’ve found Shopify, click Detailsand Link Shopifyin the next window. The next window provides the ability to directly link Shopify or link to Shopify Via Zapier.
- Select the option you want based on the data you may like to import.
- Click Continuein the next window you will be prompted to click Authorizeto continue with the integration.
- When you click Create data integrationyou'll be redirected to the Shopify page where you can log into your Shopify account.
- Complete the steps on the Shopify website.
You can now import audiences (Customer Match) from Shopify.
Unlink Shopify and Google Ads
- In your Google Ads account, click the Tools
icon
.
- Click Data manager .
- Under “Featured products”, find Shopify and click Details.
- Find the channel and click Unlinkin the “Action” column.
Note: After you unlink Shopify and Google Ads, imported audiences will stop updating.
