How and where to declare
You can declare whether or not your Google Ads campaign will promote political ads that will run in the EU by following the steps outlined below. Keep in mind that you can:
- (Recommended)Declare from the client account level of your Google Ads account.
- Declare in Search Ads 360. This can be done when you create or edit a single campaign, edit campaigns in bulk, or work with templates.
Client accounts (recommended)
You can declare whether or not your Google Ads campaigns will promote political ads that will run in the EU at the client account level by following these steps in your Google Ads account (not in SA360):
- Navigate to your Google Ads account .
- From the page menu on the left, select Billing, then select Advertiser verification.
- In the "Plan to run European Union political ads?" section, select Start task.
- Declare if your account will run political ads in the EU:
- If you won’t be promoting political ads targeting the EU, choose “No, I don’t plan to use this account to run EU political ads”.
- If you’ll be promoting political ads targeting the EU, choose “Yes, I plan to use this account to run EU political ads”. Note that campaigns under this Google Ads account won’t be able to run ads targeting the EU.
- Select Save.

Campaigns
Campaign creation
- Sign in to your Search Ads 360 experience .
- Navigate to a Google Ads client account.
- From the page menu on the left, select Campaigns.
- Select the plus buttonand then New campaign.
- Choose a goal for your campaign. If none of the goals fit what you’re looking for, select Create a campaign without a goal’s guidance.
- If this step doesn’t reflect what you’re viewing in your account, choose a campaign type and then select a goal.
- Choose a campaign type and any relevant settings. Learn About Google Ads campaign types.
- Declare if your campaign will run political ads in the EU:
- If you won’t be promoting political ads targeting the EU, select “No, this campaign doesn’t have EU political ads”.
- If you’ll be promoting political ads targeting the EU, select “Yes, this campaign has EU political ads”. Note that your created Google Ads campaign won’t be able to run ads targeting the EU.
- Select Continue. Then, choose your campaign settings. Learn About campaign settings .
- Select Save and continue.
Copying campaigns
- Sign in to your Search Ads 360 experience .
- Navigate to a sub-manager or client account that contains the campaigns you want to copy.
- Select the Campaignstab. Then, check the checkbox next to every campaign you want to copy to choose the source campaigns.
- Note: You can only copy Google Ads campaigns to other client accounts or to Google Ads accounts. You can’t copy campaigns from other clients.
- Select Editand then Copy.
- For any pasted Google Ads campaigns without EU political ads declarations, you're required to declare whether or not these campaigns promote political ads that will run in the EU. Google Ads campaigns copied with declarations already in place will have those automatically copied over.
- If you won’t be promoting political ads targeting the EU, select “No, these campaigns won’t have EU political ads”.
- If you’ll be promoting political ads targeting the EU, select “Yes, these campaigns will have EU political ads”. Note that your created Google Ads campaign won’t be able to run ads targeting the EU.
- Navigate to the sub-manager or client account that you’d like to copy the campaigns to and select Pastein the toolbar above the reporting table. You can also choose any campaign, select Edit, and then Paste.
- Choose the accounts to paste your campaigns to.
- To pause any new campaigns that will be created, select Pause new campaigns after pasting.
- To adjust the start and end dates of destination campaigns, select Adjust start and end dates. If you don't adjust the start and end dates, your campaign settings will be based on their original duration.
- For the “Start date”, select a date.
- For the “End date”, select “None”, a date, or “Use original duration” to create a duplicate campaign with the same start and end date as the original campaign you selected.
- To apply labels to the destination campaigns, select Apply existing labels to pasted campaigns. The new Search Ads 360 doesn’t copy labels from the source campaign to the destination campaign automatically.
- Select Paste. The new Search Ads 360 will copy and update campaigns. A “Pasting your campaigns” message will appear above the reporting table and indicate the status of the copy process.
After copying, the new Search Ads 360 will display errors for any settings that weren’t copied.
Bulksheets
You can declare whether or not your Google Ads campaigns will promote political ads that will run in the EU in a bulksheet.
In order to declare, you'll need to provide a declaration in the “EU Political Ads” column as to whether or not your Google Ads campaigns will promote political ads that will run in the EU.
- If you won’t be promoting political ads targeting the EU, declare “No”.
- If you’ll be promoting political ads targeting the EU, declare “Yes”. Note that your created Google Ads campaigns won’t be able to run ads targeting the EU.
Templates
The EU political ads declaration is required for each Template you create. You have the option to complete this in bulk (recommended) using the “Templates” declaration panel at the top of the page.
- If you won’t be promoting political ads targeting the EU, select “No, campaigns do not have political ads”.
- If you’ll be promoting political ads targeting the EU, select “Yes, campaigns will have political ads”. Note that your created Google Ads campaign won’t be able to run ads targeting the EU.
