Colette Is the Latest Victim of Armed Robbery in Paris

According to French police, two robbers wielding a shotgun and an axe barged into Colette this morning, making off with about 600,000 euros worth of goods, mostly high-end watches.

They forced all six employees, who were laying out the merchandise in display cases, and a security guard to the ground. No one was hurt in the robbery. The pair, who disguised themselves with helmets, then fled on a scooter with a false license plate.

Police say they’ll analyze the store’s videotape for clues. The upscale area has seen several break-ins in recent months, including Vacheron Constantin, where thieves used axes and sledgehammers, and De Grisogono watch boutique earlier this month.
