Joshua R. Bressler
Principal
For over twenty-five years, Joshua R. Bressler has worked with other attorneys and senior management to develop and protect his clients' intellectual property rights — and to convert intellectual property into revenue streams. He is an Internet-age pioneer in the field, having spearheaded the early efforts of firms such as Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP to offer their clients services in this space. He also served as general counsel to an Internet social networking company with a vast membership and intellectual property and technology portfolios.
Clients who work with Josh typically appreciate his encyclopedic understanding of IP principles and their implications, his ability to map them to overall legal and business goals, and his deft discretion in interacting with team members, counterparts and adversaries. Josh works collaboratively, actively managing expectations at all levels and providing extraordinary value for his clients' financial investment in legal services.
Josh is admitted to the New York and Connecticut State bars. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Bressler holds a juris doctorate (J.D.), cum laude, from New York University School of Law and a bachelor's degree (B.S.E.), cum laude, in electrical engineering and biomedical engineering from Duke University. He is a member of the First Amendment Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar Association, where he is past co-chair of the Rights of Privacy, Publicity and the Media Committee of its Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section, as well as a member of the Connecticut State Bar Association.
