Toucan Programming Software Guide – Please Read!

IMPORTANT!If your Toucan reports hardware version 4A(as distinct from version 4) DO NOT downgrade the firmware from the V1.95or later that the unit was delivered with. Doing so will cause your Toucan to stop functioning and it will need to be returned to us to be fixed.
We now only support V1.99, due to a myriad of previous conflicts and inconsistencies, especially between the ECU, Toucan, and 3rd party devices connected to the CANbus, especially when using a Link or Syvecs ECU.
You should read the new User Guide that’s associated with V1.99 as the “More Page 4” setup of the CAN streams is different to earlier versions.
With a Link ECU different stream files will almost certainly need to be used. Also the CAN “DI” stream (used to allow Toucan to control the Link ECU to change calibrations etc.) has changed along the way.
With the G4X Link ECU we STRONGLYrecommend moving to our new universal CAN stream in place of the original Link default “generic dash” stream coupled with our “extra frame” stream. However the “extra frame” streams are sill available for download.
If in doubt, and the Toucan is working as you want it to, you may want to consider NOT upgrading if you or your dealer/mapper are not confident to make changes.
Check your Toucan’s “More Page 6” to see what hardware version your Toucan uses.
