Eric Nelsenportrays the character Ennis from 1883. In search of a place to call home, a group of inexperienced men, women, and children are escorted north by a young, attractive cowboy named him.
Shea Brennan (Sam Elliott) hires cowboys Ennis and Wade to assist in guiding the pioneers from Texas to Oregon in the northwest.These are tough guys who appear to be in desperate need of a shower for the majority of the first five episodes.
It was important that the actors portraying the cowboys be at ease with horses. Therefore, Taylor Sheridan took his actors undergo a cowboy camp experience, akin to a ranch before filming started in 1883.
Eric Nelsen’s childhood experience with horses and country life helped him learn better in the cowboy camps.
As his father spent the majority of his life training horses. His mother showed horses, and he trained thoroughbred polo horses.

Ennis’s unexpected tragic death broke hearts of fans all around the world, but how did he die in season 5?
Four of the better gunmen in the waggon train company pursued the six bandits who attacked the travellers.
The assailants were shot down one by one, and when Ennis—who had stayed with the herd—came over to offer assistance, he accidentally shot one of them too.
Nevertheless, the other shot him throughout that procedure. Soon after being struck close to the heart, he passed away.In his final moments, he told James Dutton, “I loved her.”
In 1883, Shea Brennan, a Pinkerton agent, hired Colton, a rancher, to succeed Ennis.
Colton was a friend of Ennis, as we find out via his chat with Elsa, which gives comfort to the bereaved widow.
