Country music icon Willie Nelson was unable to perform at his scheduled stop in Virginia Beach for the Outlaw Music Festival Tour on Wednesday, June 26th.
The news came just hours before showtime via a social media post from Nelson’s team. The statement cited doctor’s advice as the reason for the missed performance.
Despite Nelson’s absence, the show went on with Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and Celisse taking the stage as planned. Additionally, Nelson’s son Lukas Nelson and his band performed a set featuring Willie Nelson classics for the audience.
This news follows an earlier announcement on June 21st that Nelson was under doctor’s orders to rest due to not feeling well. At that time, the expectation was for him to rejoin the tour this week.
The 91-year-old Nelson is still the oldest actively touring musician and recently released his 152nd album, “The Border,” in May. He also has a cannabis cookbook with his wife Annie due out later this year.
Lainey Wilson cemented her status as country music royalty with a show-stopping performance at CMA Fest!
This reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year wasn’t content with just one set – she graced the Nissan Stadium stage a whopping four times, and each appearance was more electric than the last.
Wilson kicked things off with a solo set that left the crowd breathless.
Dressed in a jaw-dropping outfit of blue studded bell bottoms and a matching vest, she unleashed her scorching new hit, “Hang Tight Honey.”
The energy in the stadium was electric as Wilson delivered a performance that showcased her unmatched stage presence and powerful vocals.
But Wilson wasn’t done there! She surprised fans with a series of epic collaborations throughout the festival. First up was a trip down memory lane with country icon Terri Clark.
The two powerhouse vocalists joined forces to deliver a reimagined version of Clark’s classic hit, “Poor, Poor Pitiful Me.”
Wearing the same dazzling blue outfit, Wilson seamlessly blended her modern flair with Clark’s timeless style, creating a performance that was both nostalgic and fresh.
Next, Wilson traded her blue for some serious rockstar vibes. Appearing onstage with Keith Urban, she donned a head-turning ensemble of black leather bell bottoms , a brown fringe vest, and a matching cowboy hat.
Together, they unleashed their latest collaboration, “GO HOME W U.” The electrifying chemistry between them crackled through the speakers as their voices intertwined on this smooth, carefree anthem.
Finally, Wilson joined forces with rapper Jelly Roll to perform their chart-topping smash, “Save Me.” The stripped-down arrangement put the spotlight on the raw emotion in the song.
When Wilson joined the performance midway through, the crowd erupted, their voices a powerful chorus echoing through the stadium. This heartfelt performance was a true highlight of the entire CMA Fest event.
With four unforgettable performances, Lainey Wilson proved why she’s at the top of her game. She’s a captivating performer with a voice that can soar and a stage presence that can light up a stadium. If you weren’t already a Lainey Wilson fan, you definitely are now!
In a candid interview with guest hosts Martin Short and Jane Lynch, Jelly Roll revealed how his time in prison played a crucial role in shaping his music career.
With limited resources, he used his creativity to write songs and even create beats using just a table.
But the real treat came when Jelly Roll teased the release date for his upcoming album. Though tight-lipped about specifics, he playfully hinted, “Jelly Roll’s music favors the fall,” suggesting a release sometime this autumn.
Fans got a taste of what’s to come with Jelly Roll’s latest single, “I Am Not Okay,” a song inspired by a heartfelt conversation with fellow songwriters after a show.
The emotional track is already climbing the charts and resonating with audiences.
The excitement didn’t stop there. Jelly Roll also announced the expansion of his “Beautifully Broken Tour 2024” with a whopping 15 new dates!
Kicking off on August 27th in Salt Lake City, the tour will hit major cities like Cincinnati, Lexington, Houston, and Austin. Joining Jelly Roll on the road will be a talented lineup of openers, including Warren Zeiders, Alexandra Kay, ERNEST, Shaboozey, and Allie Colleen.
Tickets for the newly added shows go on sale this Thursday, June 27th, with presales starting for Citi and Verizon customers. General on-sale begins next Monday, July 1st.
Looks like Jelly Roll is bringing the heat this fall, both with his new album and his extended tour. Get ready for a season filled with powerful music and energetic live performances!
Country singer Ashley Cooke is gearing up to hit the road this fall for her highly anticipated “Your Place” Tour !
The tour, named after Cooke’s chart-topping single “your place,” kicks off on October 23rd in Seattle, Washington and will travel across the US for 17 cities, with more dates to be announced soon.
Special guest Greylan James will be joining Cooke for the entire run.
This announcement comes fresh off the heels of Cooke’s successful “shot in the dark” tour in 2023, where she played over 33 shows nationwide.
Expressing her excitement, Cooke shared, “Is it October yet? I can’t WAIT for this tour celebrating ‘your place’ and all that’s happened since my first tour!”

Louisiana native Jordan Davis brought the house down at CMA Fest with a powerful performance of his chart-topping hit “Next Thing You Know.”
Taking the stage at Nissan Stadium, Davis captivated the audience with the song’s heartfelt message about cherishing life’s precious moments.
Dressed in a casual yet stylish ensemble of a mustard-yellow button-up shirt, white tee, and jeans, Davis strummed his acoustic guitar and delivered a vocally impressive rendition of the song.
The lyrics, “There’s just an energy in Nashville,” seemed particularly poignant as he performed in the heart of Music City.
“Next Thing You Know,” co-written by Davis alongside Josh Osborne, Greylan James, and CHase McGill, is the sixth No. 1 song for the singer-songwriter.
It’s a standout track on his latest album, “Bluebird Days,” which also features hits like “Buy Dirt,” “What My World Spins Around,” and “Tucson Too Late.”
This year marked Davis’ second appearance on the CMA Fest main stage, and he admitted feeling a calmer energy compared to his debut.
“Last year, I was a nervous wreck,”he confessed. “But this year, it’s pure excitement and a huge honor. I remember dreaming of playing this stage, so I don’t take it for granted.”
Davis’ CMA Fest performance falls amidst a jam-packed schedule. He’s currently headlining his own “Damn Good Time World Tour” while also joining Luke Combs for select dates on his “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour.”
Speaking about performing in Nashville for CMA Fest, Davis shared,
“There’s this incredible energy in Nashville. These songs were born here, written and recorded here.
To perform them for the fans in the city where they originated is an experience unlike any other. There’s no lineup like CMA Fest anywhere else in the world, and it feels amazing to be a part of it, especially while getting to sleep in my own bed!
Nashville is the birthplace of country music, and celebrating it here with CMA is simply awesome.”
Blake Shelton and Post Malone set the stage on fire at CMA Fest this year with an unannounced duet!
The crowd at Nissan Stadium erupted in cheers as Post Malone casually strolled onto the scene, later joined by Shelton himself. This surprise performance marked the live debut of their highly anticipated collaboration, “Pour Me A Drink.”
The feel-good track, from Post Malone’s upcoming country debut album, had the entire audience singing along to the catchy chorus:
“Somebody pour me a drink, somebody bum me a smoke/ I’m ’bout to get on a buzz, I’m ’bout to get on a roll/ Yeah, I been breakin’ my back just keepin’ up with the Joneses/ Y’all know what I mean, and y’all know how it goes/ When it’s up on a Friday and I’m paid, slide one over my way/ I can’t even think when I can hear one callin’ my name”
Just days after CMA Fest, the official music video for “Pour Me A Drink” dropped, taking viewers on a ride through a lively backyard party. You can watch it [here](link to the music video).
This surprise performance was undoubtedly a highlight of CMA Fest and further amped up the excitement surrounding Post Malone’s upcoming album, “F-1 Trillion.”
Scheduled for release on August 16th, the project also features the chart-topping “I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen.
Post Malone will be back at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium this fall as he wraps up his “F-1 Trillion Tour” on October 19th. The 21-city tour kicks off on September 8th and includes stops at stadiums, festivals, and amphitheaters across the US. Find out more details.
Big & Rich’s iconic “Save A Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” got a whole new lease on life at CMA Fest this year, thanks to a surprise collaboration with country/rocker HARDY!
The crowd at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium erupted as the artists took the stage for an unanticipated performance that sent the energy levels soaring.
Big Kenny donned his signature top hat for the occasion, while Rich brought the extra flair with a fur coat. HARDY, ever the energetic performer, kept the momentum going throughout the entire surprise set.
This wasn’t something HARDY saw coming. “We have a big surprise tonight,”he shared before the show. “I would’ve never thought… I just didn’t have it on my bingo card,”he admitted, clearly excited about the unexpected turn of events.
“Save A Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” was a groundbreaking song for country music when it debuted in 2003.
Written by Big Kenny and John Rich, the unique sound and lyrics propelled the track to No. 11 on the charts and became the second single from their album, “Horse of a Different Color.”
The performance celebrated the 20th anniversary of this genre-bending song that left a lasting impact. HARDY called the chance to perform it with Big & Rich “insane” and something he couldn’t wait for.
This surprise wasn’t the only highlight of HARDY’s CMA Fest set. He also brought out Lauren Alaina for another unexpected performance and treated the audience to his latest release,
“SIX FEET UNDER (Caleigh’s Song).” Currently, HARDY is out on his headlining “Quit!!” Tour, which wraps up later in July.
