For more than ten years, Eminem has been trying to stay sober. In a recent chat on Paul Rosenberg’s show, Paul Pod, he talked about his rehab. Rosenberg was his previous manager also.
He talked about how his almost fatal overdose in 2007 woke him up and made him want to quit drinking.
When Eminem thought back to the beginning of his recovery, he said, “I remember when I first got sober and all the s— was out of my system.
It was during this time that Eminem recorded his 2009 album Relapse.
He said it was the most fun he had had recording in a long time.
He also said that when he played music again, things seemed “new to me again.” The rap artist went on, “It was like the first time I started enjoying music and rapping again. You understand the whole process.”
It took me a long time to get my brain to work again. During the interview, Eminem also talked about how Rosenberg asked the doctors if the rapper might have had enduring brain damage as he began to make music and rap again after being sober for years.
Eminem said, “ Did not you ask the doctors when I started recording news—when I first started rapping again and sent it to you, did not you say, ‘I just wanted to make sure he did not have brain damage?‘”
Rosenberg joked that he was worried that Eminem might have “ permanent problems”while he was getting better.
The two additionally cited Detroit Basketball, a neglected song that got out at the time, as a reminder of the kind of work Eminem did right after he got better, which made some people worry.
Rosenberg said, “ Nobody was pushing you; you were just finding your way and doing it slowly, but a record that leaked out, that ‘Detroit Basketball’ record, it was not good.”
As the host said, Eminem replied, “ It was weird because as my brain was turning back on, I started going over lines like ‘Wait, that is not good.'”
It was also brought up that Eminem was recording in Florida while he was going through symptoms from an accident.
He said he was taking “75 to 80 Valium a night” when he began working on Relapse. He said, “I remember being happy & everything was f—g new to me again!”
Eminem’s path to rehab was long and hard, but he has been clean since 2008. This man’s journey shows how strong it is to be strong and determined.
A picture of Eminem carrying a recovery chip that said “ Unity, service, and recovery” was posted on Instagram on April 21, 2024, to mark his 16th year of sobriety.
Between 2002 and 2008, he was addicted to Ambien, Valium, and Vicodin. He has been clean since April 2008.
In a radio interview in 2022, he talked about this event and said that he was grateful to have survived it and that his recovery had given him a new start in life.
After getting clean, Eminem’s sixth studio record, “ Relapse,” came out in 2009. It was a big step forward in his work as an artist.
He has kept making music , and in 2020, his most recent solo record, “ Music to Be Murdered By,” came out. Eminem has celebrated his health successes on social media over the years.

Eminem’s ability to stay sober shows how powerful and driven he is. He has been open about the problems he has had in the past, and he has used his role to express his story and encourage other people.
Eminem has been open about his battles with drugs and how he got clean. In an article written on XXL . In podcast 2022 , he talked about his life, from when he was a failing artist to when he became famous and then used drugs.
It was before Eminem signed with Dr. Dre and Interscope that he talked to Royce 5’9″about a hip-hop business that wanted to sign him.
However, the people who worked for the label were not who they said they were, which put Eminem’s career at a low point. With a baby to care for, Eminem was 24 years old and very sad at the time.
Three weeks later, he drove to Los Angeles in 1997 and met Dr. Dre. That meeting changed his life forever. When Eminem’s fame started to grow, he started having problems with drugs.
His drug use did not start when he was young; it began when he became famous.
It took Eminem five years to become addicted, and things got worse after his friend and fellow rapper Proof died in 2006.
He remembered a time when he was so drunk that he wasn’t able to the host’s questions during a show on BET’s 106 & Park.
His addiction also caused him to spend time alone, during which he did not put out any songs or say why he was not around.
Eminem has been sober for 16 years and says that it has given him a new start in life. He looks up to rappers like Kendrick Lamar, Joyner Lucas, J. Cole, and Big Sean and wants to be the best of the best.
He does not care about charts or numbers; he just wants to be the best rapper.
