Jake E. Lee, the iconic guitarist who once played for Ozzy Osbourne , has finally spoken out after surviving a terrifying shooting just two days ago.
The 67-year-old rocker, best known for his guitar work during Osbourne’s Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin era, took to social media to update his fans about the horrifying incident that left him with multiple gunshot wounds.

In a post on the Facebook page for his band Red Dragon Cartel , Jake E. Lee revealed that he was shot three times while simply walking his dog, Coco, late at night.
What should have been an ordinary outing turned into a nightmare when a random shooter unloaded a clip of bullets in his direction.
“I was on my way back home from walking my dog Coco (I didn’t name him, so don’t!),” Lee wrote, with a touch of his usual humor.
Accompanying the post was a photo of his sleepy dog lying on a red leather couch, blissfully unaware of the chaos that unfolded.
Though Lee didn’t want to dive too deep into the details, he shared the grim reality of the attack.
“The police found 15 shell casings at the scene which means he emptied his clip on me.”
He then added, “I could only dodge so many,”before revealing that he was struck by three bullets: one through his forearm, another through his foot, and a third that went through his back, breaking a rib and damaging his lung.
Despite the gruesome injuries, Jake E. Lee seemed in good spirits, counting himself “relatively very lucky”considering how much worse the situation could have been.
His main focus now is healing his injured lung. “Priority now is to keep draining my lung till it’s done crying,”he said, with a sense of humor that fans have come to love.
“Then we can pull that tube out and concentrate on the more minor injuries.”Lee’s dog Coco, who was with him during the attack, came out of the ordeal unscathed.
“Coco’s fine and appreciates your inquiries!”he joked, reassuring fans who had been concerned for his beloved pet.
The shooting happened in the early hours of the morning, around 2:45 a.m., while Lee was taking his usual late-night walk with Coco.
According to the initial police report, the attack appears to have been completely random, which only adds to the shock of the event.
The investigation is still ongoing, but so far, there’s little to go on in terms of motives or suspects.
Lee’s representative shared earlier that the guitarist was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital and remains in the intensive care unit.
Thankfully, his condition is stable, and doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
Given how serious the attack was, it’s incredible that Lee is even up and communicating, let alone maintaining his signature sense of humor.

Though it’s been nearly four decades since Jake E. Lee parted ways with Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath frontman was quick to respond when he heard the news of the attack.
“It’s been 37 years since I’ve seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesn’t take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today. It’s just another senseless act of gun violence,”Osbourne told TMZ in response to the incident.
“I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter , Jade. I just hope he’ll be OK.”
Jake E. Lee first rose to fame when he joined Ozzy Osbourne’s band in 1982, following the departure of guitarist Brad Gillis.
He became a key part of Osbourne’s sound during the mid-80s, contributing to classic albums like Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin .
However, his time with Osbourne came to an abrupt end in 1987, when he was fired over the phone by Sharon Osbourne, a decision Lee later said blindsided him.
Despite the split, Lee went on to have a successful career. He formed the band Badlands and later launched Red Dragon Cartel in 2013.
While his relationship with Osbourne ended on a sour note, fans of the guitarist still remember him as one of the most influential rock guitarists of the era.
After leaving Ozzy Osbourne’s band, Jake E. Lee formed Badlands in 1988 with singer Ray Gillen , drummer Eric Singer, and bassist Greg Chaisson.
They released their first album, Badlands , in 1989 and followed it up with Voodoo Highway in 1991.
After Gillen’s departure and his subsequent death in 1993, Lee kept a low profile until forming Red Dragon Cartel in 2013, releasing their debut album in 2014 and a second album, Patina , in 2018.
In his personal life, Lee faced health challenges, including carpal tunnel syndrome in his right wrist, which led to him needing surgery. He hadn’t performed live since 2019.
The random act of violence has left the rock community in shock, but it has also sparked an outpouring of support for Lee.
Fans and fellow musicians have flooded social media with messages of love, well-wishes, and prayers for his speedy recovery.
One fan wrote, “What has happened to our country?”echoing the disbelief many feel over the senseless attack.
For now, Jake E. Lee’s focus is on recovery , both from the serious lung injury and his other wounds.
His humor and resilience shine through despite the circumstances, giving fans hope that he’ll make a full comeback.
As he continues to heal, the rock world stands behind him, sending love to one of its most beloved guitarists.
Here’s hoping that Lee will be back to shredding on stage with Red Dragon Cartel soon—and that he continues walking his dog without any more unexpected dangers.
