Justin Timberlake jet started his Forgot Tomorrow World Tour this year. However, since its beginning, the tour has been met with several hurdles and setbacks, all related to Justin’s worsening health.
The singer’s Forgot Tomorrow World Tour started in North America and still has several pit stops to make. Keep reading for more information regarding the tour and the artists’ health.
Justin Timberlake sustained a back injury on November 25, 2024, during his Forget Tomorrow World Tour performance in New Orleans. Justin Timberlake is known for his energetic performances, and this incident occurred during one of them at the Smoothie King Theater.
Upon the injury, medical professionals advised Justin to take some time off and rest for a while. This decision needed to be implemented to avoid any future complications.
Justin Timberlake released a statement on Instagram regarding the cancellation of his show at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. He went on to write, “I’m so sorry Oklahoma City, I have to cancel the show on 12/2.”
“I hurt my back in Nola, and my doctors have instructed me to rest a little bit longer. Thank you for your support.”
Justin Timberlake, during his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, has faced several health issues recently. In October 2024, Timberlake was diagnosed with bronchitis and laryngitis, both severe conditions that affected his ability to perform on stage.
He also canceled his performance in Newark due to an undisclosed injury, Jersey, saying, “I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing.”
Timberlake wrote on Instagram. “I’m so disappointed to not see you all – but I’m working to reschedule ASAP. I promise to make it up to you and give you the show ya’ll deserve.”
When the 10-time Grammy Award winner was diagnosed with bronchitis and laryngitis, he had to cancel a total of six shows. These were supposed to be taking place in Chicago, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Detroit, Milwaukee, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Columbus.
These shows were then rescheduled for February next year. The singer once again issued a statement saying, “I do need to reschedule the next few shows from 10/23 through 11/2. New dates are listed above. Thank you for understanding – I’ll make it up to you.”
As soon as Justin announced his back injury, social media flooded with support. Fans from around the world, including those who were supposed to attend the show, expressed worry and wished the singer a speedy recovery.
Fans portrayed their eagerness to watch the icon perform live on stage as soon as he regains full strength. This love and support shows fans’ adoration for Justin.
Even though a time off from the stage and a rigorous performance routine were much needed, Justin still expressed his regret over the cancellation of the Oklahoma City concert.
Justin expressed deep sadness, saying, “Y’all know I hate doing this.” This apology highlights the difficulty of deciding for Justin and his reluctance to make his fans unhappy.
The back injury comes from Justin’s rigorous routine on tour. Justin Timberlake, since always, has been known for his over-the-top dance moves and performances.
Spending long hours on stage, with multiple shows in a single week, eventually leads to fatigue. Intense choreography and high-energy routines took a toll on Justin’s health.
Justin had taken time off from the industry before the tour announcement. This time was used to focus on other ventures and personal commitments.
During his time off, he focused on acting and spending more time with his family. The tour was announced to celebrate Justin’s comeback after a long period of rest.
Forget Tomorrow World Tour was a highly anticipated event and this tour marked Justins’ return to the stage after a six-year hiatus. The tour announcement came right after Justin released the “Everything I Thought It Was” track.
The tour began in April 2024 and featured a setlist that included both classic and new hits, all of them being fan favorites. Unfortunately, the tour was met with numerous challenges from the start.
These constant cancellations have led to the tour schedule being more delayed than expected. The tour was originally supposed to end on, 7 July 2025, with the last show being scheduled in Paris, France at the Lollapalooza.
However, with these series of setbacks following Justin’s health issues, the tour might go on for longer. The timings and details of the rescheduled shows are still being finalized.
After the December 2 show, Justin Timberlake is supposed to perform at the Toyota Center in Houston on December 4. However, no statement has yet been issued whether the singer is going to make it or not.
His back injury required him to go on a long period of rest. And given that, the chances of Justin performing at the December 4 show are slim.
Justin Timberlake’s fans have been understanding throughout the rescheduling and health setbacks. However, the constant cancellations have led to fans being disappointed more than once.
Even though the management has taken care of refunds and everything else related to the rescheduling, this has dampened fans’ excitement. Fans are worried about how the singer will complete the remaining shows.
The Forget Tomorrow World Tour is supposed to take Justin across North America, with extensions planned for South America and Europe. The tour will take a brief pause for the holidays.
The tour will shortly conclude on 20, December 2024. After the short break, Timberlake will resume performances on January 13, 2025, with additional stops in North America, South America, and Europe.
Even though these health setbacks were unfortunate, they are a testament to Justin’s strength and determination to keep going. The tour dates have been rescheduled again and again due to the health issues Justin faced, however, he still hasn’t canceled the tour and that shows his resilience.
