Meet Georgia native Sam Hunt. No need to worry if you haven’t heard his name before because chances are you’ve heard his songs on country radio. Sam co-wrote Kenny Chesney’s “Come Over” and has also written songs such as Keith Urban’s “Cop Car” and Billy Currington’s “We Are Tonight.” In September, 2013 Sam independently released a song titled “Raised On It.” However, in January 2014 he signed with MCA Nashville. Sam’s music is unique and blends together a nice mix of country and pop. Usually, I would be turned off by music like this as I’m pretty big on my traditional country sound but there is something special about this guy and his music. His lyrics tell the perfect story, he has notable vocals and his style is just original. His debut single “Leave The Night On” can now be heard on your favorite country radio station. Sam Hunt is the one to watch for 2014, which is why he is the perfect guy for our #MCM this week.
