Based on their true love and bond, Norma and her husband, George Strait were together for almost fifty years. The name George Strait is not new to his fans and music lovers.
Norma is the life partner of the country music icon George Strait. The couple married in 1971 till the end of George Strait’s life.
Norma became known after her marriage with the legendary country music singer and songwriter, let’s try to know more about Norma and his love journey.
Norma was born in the state of Pearsall, Texas in the year of 1954. She belonged to a middle-class family and her parents worked hard to raise their children.
The family consisted of six siblings and Norma was at fourth. Her father Joe Ray Voss worked as an agronomist and her mother was a caregiver.
Norma and her siblings finished high school in Pearsall and later she graduated in physical therapy from Texas University. Norma belonged to a pure American white ethnicity.
Luckily, Norma and her spouse were in the same high school and they first met in the late 60s. Additionally, Norma is the one and only woman her husband loves.
Norma had five siblings, but she was more friendly with her elder sister Barbara. Both sisters enjoyed their childhood while trying fun activities including fishing, hunting, visiting different places, and exploring new and fun life.
Likewise, both sisters have the same friends and they play card games, chess, and dominoes while studying in groups.
After graduating from Texas University in physical education Norma pursued her career as a social worker and philanthropist.
For this purpose, the couple started and organized a Jennifer Strait Foundation to work on the upper level for children and adults. They also donate to multiple nonprofit organizations through the foundation.
As we read above, Norma met George in her high school in Pearsall Texas. They studied in the same high school. However, the couple dated for a few years and decided to tie the knot.
According to George, “ Norma is the first girl I fell in love with, we studied together and we went on our first date, I didn’t propose to her. It was my mistake; I missed the chance. “
The pair married in 1971 in Mexico. They announced their wedding to celebrate their wedding ceremony twice in a small church in Pearsall, Texas with their families. Norma was only nineteen when she joined a marriage bond.
When the pair married, George was a new member of the US Army and transferred to the city of Hawaii. He started his musical career after tying the knot. He first performed in the army-supporting band Rambling Country .
After attending for five years or more, George left the army and moved to another band Ace in The Hole. Unfortunately, the band couldn’t get any success.
George was also disappointed and thought to leave the music. It was the time when Norma asked to try and became his motivation. She supported him as the backbone and gave him super nice suggestions.
In 1975, the pair moved to the city of music, Nashville. After facing ups and downs like every start, George was assigned to the recording deal with MCA in 1981. As the wife of a singer, Norma always remained at his back.
While on the music tours, and attending live concerts she never got possessive. Although her husband became the world’s legendary artist of his time with her love.
George Strait is one of the biggest names in the music industry as a popular actor, singer, and songwriter. He also showed his skills in direction and production.
His cowboy image remained in the lights of fame. He was also famous for the neotraditional country style in the 80s. With all his hard work, George scored the title King of Country Music .
He released his first single Unwound . He was only getting started in his professional career. George won several awards for his acting, direction, and also on his music work.
He is also known as the best-selling music artist in the music industry. Surprisingly, as the biggest artist, he loved and married a single woman Norma, with whom she spent 52 happy years.

In the years of their marriage when George was in the US Army, the couple revealed the good news of their first child, a daughter Jennifer Lynn Strait in 1972.
Their second baby was born when George was at the peak of his career in 1981, they welcomed their son Bubba Strait. Besides a supporting wife, Norma is a loving mother who preferred to stay at home for her children and she became a homemaker to fulfill her job properly.
Life went smoothly, George was busy focusing on his career and Norma was concentrating on her kids. In 1986, when Jennifer was only thirteen died in a serious car accident. The mishap happened near her home in Texas, but it was quite a difficult time for the family.
Norma was only 32. However, the couple didn’t reveal much about the accident and the tragedy on social media.
At the time of Jennifer’s death, her younger son was only 5. Norma chose to stay at home to raise and focus on Bubba Strait . She also loved her husband and built a strong connection as the pillar of the family.
For the sake of the daughter’s love, George dedicated a song Baby Blue . He tried to show his love for her daughter and it was a big for the family.
Although, the family served a charitable organization the Jennifer Memorial Foundation. The foundation works as the social department and donates charity to poor people.
