Malo’s doctors have recommended that he begin therapy right after the 4th of July.
He reassured fans that the chemotherapy prescribed is the least intrusive available, and many patients are able to continue their normal activities during treatment.
However, he also cautioned that depending on his reaction to the therapy, the Mavericks’ 2024 tour dates might be impacted.
“Some of the shows may be affected this year as we navigate this situation and see how the therapy goes,” Malo explained.
One of the reasons Malo chose to share his diagnosis with fans was to address the potential impact on upcoming shows.
However, he also wanted to use his platform to emphasize the importance of proactive health care.
“Go see a doctor. Be proactive in your health. It’ll help fight whatever ails you,” he advised.
