Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott recently gave fans something unexpected to talk about during a press conference.
Instead of just focusing on football, Prescott managed to sneak in titles of songs from Post Malone ‘s new album, F-1 Trillion, into his answers.
This playful nod wasn’t just a random act; it highlighted the strong connection between Post Malone, a Texas native, and his favorite football team.
Post Malone, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, grew up in Texas and has always been a big supporter of the Dallas Cowboys .
His love for the team is no secret; whether it’s through his music or his style, Posty often shows off his Cowboys pride.
With the release of his latest album, F-1 Trillion, Post Malone got a little extra help promoting it from someone unexpected—Dak Prescott, the Cowboys’ star quarterback.
In the days leading up to the release of F-1 Trillion , Dak Prescott was expected to hold a press conference to talk about his recent ankle injury and how it might affect his performance in the upcoming season.
However, Prescott decided to have some fun with it.
Instead of sticking to just football talk, he started slipping in the names of songs from Post Malone’s new album into his responses, much to the surprise and amusement of everyone listening.
Prescott started the press conference with a lighthearted joke, saying, “ Pour Me a Drink ,” which just so happens to be the title of a duet from F-1 Trillion featuring Post Malone and country star Blake Shelton.
From there, he continued to weave in other song titles, like “ Finer Things ” and “ Goes Without Saying ,” which are Post Malone’s collaborations with Hank Williams Jr. and Brad Paisley, respectively.
It was a clever way for Prescott to pay tribute to Post Malone’s new music while keeping things fun and engaging during the press conference.
Over the course of the press conference, Prescott managed to name-drop a total of eight songs from F-1 Trillion—not counting the nine bonus tracks that Post Malone surprised fans with on the album’s release day.
One of the last songs Prescott mentioned was “ Have the Heart ,” a collaboration between Post Malone and the legendary Dolly Parton.
Prescott even tied this into his own mindset, saying, “Just trying to be present. Just trying to be where my feet are. Gotta ‘ Have the Heart.‘”
This fun moment between Prescott and Post Malone isn’t the first time the Dallas Cowboys have connected with country music .
In fact, the Cowboys have a long history with the genre.
Just last Thanksgiving, country music icon Dolly Parton performed during the halftime show at a Cowboys game, dressed in a cheerleader outfit, no less.
Prescott’s nod to Post Malone is just another example of how the Cowboys and country music continue to cross paths in creative and memorable ways.
The connection between Dak Prescott and Post Malone goes beyond this one press conference.
Back in late 2018, Post Malone released a hit song called “ Wow ,” which includes a reference to Prescott.
This mutual admiration shows that their friendship isn’t just about football or music—it’s about supporting each other in fun, unexpected ways.
Whether it’s a mention in a song or a shout-out during a press conference, Prescott and Post Malone clearly enjoy celebrating each other’s successes.
Post Malone, who grew up in Grapevine, Texas, has always been a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.
His love for the team is something he shares with his dad, who worked for the Cowboys as the food and beverage assistant director.
Over the years, Post Malone has shown his support in many fun ways.
Like appearing in the team’s promotional videos and even joking about getting a tattoo of the famous No. 88 if the Cowboys won the Super Bowl.
Even though that didn’t happen, his love for the Cowboys didn’t fade.
He teamed up with the team to create a special Cowboys-themed clothing line and even opened a Cowboys-inspired Raising Cane’s restaurant in Dallas.
All of this shows just how much the Cowboys mean to Post Malone.
