A sudden “ medical emergency” brought Mamie Laverock to the hospital in Winnipeg, Canada, on May 11, 2024.

Mamie eventually relocated to a Vancouver hospital as her therapy progressed, where she was constantly watched by doctors.
Suddenly, though, on May 26, 2024, Mamie fell from a hospital balcony railing. Mamie was seriously injured in the five-story fall.
Based on a GoFundMeupdate from her family, Mamie fell after being carried to the balcony walkway from the safe medical unit.
Though the details of the fall are yet unknown, Mamie’s family appreciates the medical treatment she has had.
Mamie’s injuries are severe, but she has improved, and her family remains attached to faith for a complete recovery.
Mamie was taken right away into emergency surgery following the fall for treatment of her possibly lethal injuries.
Her family said she had many significant operations to improve her condition and remove pressure on her head.
Her life was saved and additional injury was prevented thanks in large part to these procedures.
Mamie was still seriously ill but stable while being closely monitored in the intensive care unit (ICU).
After the procedures, she has been laid on life support, a required step to help her fragile state.
