Advertisers on Facebook can now add Click-to-WhatsApp button to their Facebook boosted posts, thereby making it easier for people to learn about their products, set up an appointment or use their service with the click of a button. This also makes it possible for advertisers to get Facebook users to chat with them on Whatsapp without having to expose their phone numbers to the public.
The Whatsapp CTA button for Facebook boosted posts is also similar to the click-to-Messenger button that Facebook previously rolled out for Facebook ads . It requires advertisers to select “post engagement” objective while boosting Facebook posts and also requires confirmation before the whatsapp number can be linked to the Facebook page.
The ads that have the specific CTA will only be seen by people who actually have the WhatsApp app installed on their devices. They will look the same as normal News Feed ads but will have WhatsApp’s logo instead of Messenger’s. Also, when tapped, WhatsApp will open with a message that users can change before sending to the business. The message received by the business, will contain the person’s custom message and an image of the Facebook ad so that the source of the message can be identified more easily.
How To Include Whatsapp Call To Action Button When Boosting Posts On Facebook
Publish your Facebook ad post on your Facebook page.
After publishing the post, click the “boost post” button that appears below the post.
Ensure the “Engagement: reactions, comments and shares” is selected.
Click the drop-down icon in the “Post button” section, select “Send Whatsapp Message” and enter your Whatsapp phone number.
Confirmation code will be sent to the number on Whatsapp. So, check your Whatsapp for the code from Facebook and enter it as required.
If successfully confirmed, the whatsapp number will be linked to the Facebook page.
You can proceed to set your audience target, budget & duration and payment method.
Once you are done, click on “boost” to submit the post for approval.
If the Facebook boosted post is approved, just chill for chats to pop up on your whatsapp from those interested in your ad 😉 .
