Five Intersecting Tetrahedra (FIT), designed by Thomas Hull,
using 30 sheets of rectangle (3:1) paper.
This is folded during the maternity leave.
Folding units was easy, but it took a lot of time to assemble,
this reminded me of my primary school days I had made a lot of unit origami, mainly using Sonobe-unit.
This may be a trigger of my origami life.
My favorite type is modular origami. I often fold several units on a commuting train, and assemble them in house.
Origami Boxes: This is also a type of modular origami.
Origami Objects: I besically prefer folding several units and assembling them, but sometimes I making a normal origami using only a sheet of square paper. Animals, flowers etc.
Cranes: I am also interested in the traditional connected crane. While I use a lot of sheets of origami paper to make a modular origami work, two or more cranes are folded from one sheet of paper to make a connected cranes.
Paper Blocks and Polyhedra
Do you knowNaef Spiel AGof Switzerland, which produces a lot of elegant building blocks?
The figure of them facsinates me, and I try to make the figure using origami and other material.
Origami Figures of Naef: Using modular origami, I try to duplicate the famous blocks of Naef.
Polyhedra and Toys: Inspired by the building blocks and polyhedra, I made several toys. I really want to have my son play with it, but paper models seem too difficult for him to use without squashing....
Platypuses
Platypuses: One of my favorite animals is a platypus. I show you a part of my collection, including platypus pictures I found in children's books.
