Medical Tribune, June 25, reported as bellow. Professor of Kyoto University, Taku Ishimi and co-researchers examined 810 thousand cardiac arrest patients and resulted as fellow. 1.The method of the pressing sternum was same or better prognosis than the conventional method( mouth to mouth artificial respiration + pressing the sternum method) 2.Only pressing the sternum is more effective than with AED if AED is effective case. 3.For children cardiac failure cases which are not suspected the origin is heart disease, conventional method is better. I have experienced to have saved a patient whose heart was arrested about 40 years before. He ,about 46 years old men, opened the eyes and moved his arms as like grabbing something and his skin changed purple color suddenly. I pressed his sternum many times over 100 per minute losing my head, and several minute later, his face changed pink, I recognized he was saved. I had believed the best method to save a life is to press a sternum, but the AED appeared several years ago as like as the Christ. But it is not universal machine, only to cut out a dead wave. I think it is on the commercialism to have been familiarized in the world, it is rather dangerous to wait to bring the AED when someone felled down. Most important thing is to press the sternum immediately not to search an AED. I admire and appreciate to this wonderful work of Taku Ishimi and his coworker.
