ジャーナリストの鳥越俊太郎氏が７/１２に東京のホテルで、７/３１投票の東京都知事選に立候補することを表明した。主な野党民進党と他の3つの野党が共同で支援することになるであろう（共同通信）。
彼は76歳でがんからの生存者である。直腸がん、（恐らく転移によるものだと思われるが）肺がん、肝臓がんを罹患してきた。今はそれらのがんを全て克服している。がんに勝ったように東京都知事選にも勝利してくれることを願う。

He has overcome all cancers now.
I expect him to win the gubernatorial election in Tokyo just like overcoming many
cancers.
