今日は今アメリカの小学校が夏休みで甲府に来ている孫たちと甲府にある科学館とそ
れに隣接する子供の国に行ってきた。科学館でははがき大の大きさの用紙に自由に絵
を書いてそれをトースターみたいなものの中で熱を加えると縮小して消しゴム位の大
きさになり、オリジナルのキーホルダーになる教室とやはりはがき大の塗り絵用紙に
ある部分は色鉛筆で、他の部は特殊な絵の具で色を塗って乾かし外に出ると紫外線が
当たって絵全体のイメージが変わる教室に参加して喜んでいた。その後は子供の国で
すべり台やジャングルジム、ブランコや綱渡り、ボート乗りなど思う存分飛び回って
楽しんだ。日ごろ日本の学校での授業が厳しく宿題もいっぱいあってうっぷんが溜
まっていたと思うがそれが晴らせたのではないかと思った。
Today I went to the science hall and children’s world in Kofu with my
grandchildren who are coming to Kofu during their summer vacation of the US.
In the science hall, they wrote a picture freely on a paper of the size of
postcard size and applied it with heat in something like a toaster it was
reduced to the size of the eraser and became the original key holder, and
next they painted some parts with colored pencils, other parts painted with
special paint on the another paper, and when they went out, the image of the
whole picture changed by hitting ultraviolet rays.
After that, they enjoyed sufficiently in kids' world playing sliding and
jungle gym, swing and tightrope walking, boat riding, and so on.
Since every day they were severe at Japanese schools and there were plenty
of homework, I thought they had been exhausted, but they cleared up today.
