I don't see Japan in 2050?
Since I started being a student at Globis, I got a lot of information about the future of Japan which is most likely to be a bad situation in economy. As I am knowing how serious it would be, I feel that I got a do something to make it better and I can find something through my school life. Because my school is trying to produce the visionary leaders who create and innovate the society. And one of the reasons why I entered the school is to find the way how I live for the rest of my life. There should be many issues in Japan. For example, the old company structure of Japan must be changed to be more productive, creative, and aggressive like China, Korea, and some other growing countries. I may keep learning about the politics and economy more and thinking what to do.

Going to a school.
I passed the exam for a Globis MBA course, so I will start the class from APR. It will be tough for me to get the MBA while I still work for my company as a sales person. I need a reason why I get it in order to be ok with such a hard days.

Web camera
I bought a web camera on the last weekend. And I set up it with my PC today for its test. It worked well as I installed the application from the attached CD. I found some interesting functions and I just played with them for a while. Well, I would use this when I chat with the English tutor next Wednesday.

Okinawa trip
I went to Okinawa last week during the holidays so-called Golden Week. Everything was perfect. The sky is blue, the ocean is clean, the food is good, the people are nice and I felt that the time goes slowly just like AUS. My girl friend has grown up in Okinawa for about 18 years. She left there when she got into the university in Saitama Pref 7 years ago. This time, we went to the north area where she doesn't really know much about. We spent most of the time in the beach and walking around. We wished to stay there longer.

Since I started listening to CNN Radio with my mp3 player, I feel like I could improve my listening skill even though it is just a little time exercise. Now I know what to do, it is to read out what the radio says. I should make effort!

Automotive industry.
The number of the car sold in Japan is now decreasing, therefore, many kinds of automotive business are getting down. But, my department can be optimistic, because the market size for the automotive lubricant might be even growing. The reason for that possibility is that there may be more people changing oil as they have to maintenance their car for longer life instead of purchasing a new car. Although, no body knows what would happen in the future.

Falling in love

Halloween party.
There was a halloween party at my place. There are about 25 participants and most of them are my sharemates. We cooked Takoyaki and pizza etc for dinner and most of us changed the clothes to each costume while drinking. After a while, all of us went out to walk around the Asakusa city saying Happy Halloween or trick or treat etc. We took pictures in front of the Kaminarimon all together. It was fantastic night and nobody thought that the event would be that exciting after all♪

Hiking
I joined in the hiking event organized by some of the employees in my company. The weather was nice, although it was very hot. We spent about 8 hours on hiking, so I was so tired. However, I could go again as I was impressed by the taste of miso soup that we had on top of the mountain.

flowing noodles
I enjoyed a flowing noodles party today on the roof of the building with some other sharemates. People usually use bamboo for the Japanese traditional noodle event, but we used two long plastic pipes as the replacement of bamboo. It worked very well and everyone got excited about it while drinking. Now I look forward to the fireworks festival coming up in the end of this month♪

New place
Since I moved in the new place, I have been meeting a lot of people staying in the same social apartment. I am impressed with those active people who are different age, occupation, nationality etc.. and that motivates me to work or study hard in a good way.

TokyoGaijins
I joined in one of the events of TokyoGaijins.com. It is a snowboarding event with 25～30 English speaking people. We went to Hakuba by bus and stayed at the small hotel on Saturday night. I enjoyed it very much, but I felt that I need to improve my listening skills to catch more words in the conversation among the native English speakers in order to communicate with them in the fun and make it more enjoyable.

I went snowboarding last weekend with my client and his friends. I could stay at very nice condominium in Ishiuchi for free thanks to one of us whose mother owns the condominium. And it is located beside the ski run so we could go snowboarding right after we get ready♪

Mr. Weifeng Xiao
I had a visitor from Shanghai and had a one-day meeting today.The meeting went alright, however, I believe it could have been more productive if only I had prepared for the presentation well enough. Anyway, I felt that I should work more efficiently to grow business together.

Birthday party (2)
One of my close friends living with her husband invited me to a birthday dinner party for both me and her tonight. Her homemade curry and meat-stuffed cabbage were awesome! Besides, the dessert made by her husband was great too, and it taste familiar. Hope to get together again soon, hopefully with more friends next time♪

I cooked fried rice with pre-mixed sauce today. It was the best fried rice I've ever cooked, thanks to the pre-mixed sauce called "Cook Do"♪ I think I really like it.

Birthday party
I had dinner with my friends as my birthday party and Nao san's farewell party, although my birthday is 4 days later. A birthday cake was brought by a waitress to our table with the sudden music at the last of the party, just when I disappointingly thought that there may not be a surprise birthday cake for me tonight. So it was nice to hear the music and see the cake♪

Vision

I think many Japanese people are now getting fears of the food imported from China because of the dumpling news. Some Japanse and Chinese are disputing why it happened on the internet. There is no point in accusing each other, anyway. We should find the route cause while cooperating together first, then take the corrective action

Nikkei stock average
The Nikkei stock average rose 362.54 points and closed at 13,859.70 today. In the past few weeks, the fluctuation in the stock market is big wheather it's up or down. I just hope my stocks to be risen a lot In the meantime, I guess there will be the fear of the global recession if the U.S. economic downturn will last so long.

Live music
I went to see the live music of my friends. It is an event that one of my friends regularly organizes, but today will be the last time until she makes it again after having a baby in a few months. The nice songs and acoustic sound made me feel at home and peaceful, so I fell asleep.I wish I could be such a great singer attracting others

Mechanics
The Japanese auto makers and other manufacturers hired a lot of mechanics in the developing countries in Asia. The companies believe that they need to get a lot of mechanics, because they will lose many Japanese employees in baby boom generation retiring in the next few years. And they also expect that they will not get enough Japanese mechanics as the birth rate is declining in Japan.

Dinner in Shinjuku
I met two friends over dinner in Shinjuku tonight. One of them is planning to do business as his second job. He is struggling to plan the business in the way he can success in the future. Even if his first business will not be so successful, I'm sure that he will learn a lot of things through the activity. I was stimulated to think about starting my own business as well. I believe it should be worthwhile to make some ideas in my mind so that I can get some options later

Friday night
I had dinner and drink with 5 other people at the izakaya in Shibuya tonight. The izakaya was newly opened in the end of last year and started its business with good food which is reasonably priced in order to get a lot of customers as the strategy at the first stage. I enjoyed the party in the fun. And I should remember that the newly opened Izakaya is most likely to be better choice when I look for an izakaya next time

Japanese law relating to the safety of the construction became more strict than before, which caused the delay of building houses, shopping centers etc.. And the real estate price has been rising, which caused people not to buy houses. Analysts expect that it will be decreased by 20 - 30% this year.

It seems to be difficult for the smaller companies to grow business in the electronic goods market, such as mp3 player, printer, electronic dictionary, cell phone, digital camera etc... For these market, the technology is improving rapidly, therefore, the company need to invest huge money in reserch and development. Japanese GDP per person in 2006 came in 18th in the world ranking although the total GDP came in 2nd. Japan must improve its productivity, otherwise, people escape from this country, I guess

Currency
Today, the US dollar fell below 106 yen for the first time since May 2005. That may have caused the fall of the stock price of some Japanese companies including Toyota who is likely to get less profit due to the currency. To me, I am kind of happy with this, because my division import the products from the U.S.

I bought 100 stocks of the company as I believe that it will rise in the long term.Actually, one of my clients told me the information about the stock. He is a successful person who earned over 10 million yen per year from his investments. He said he reads a newspaper every day in order to expect what will happen on the stock market in the future. Business Trip to Thailand
I am taking a business trip to Thailand nextweek. As my company pays the expense, it is very nice to be able to visit somewhere for free, especially the place I may never visit on my own. The city is called Chaing Mai, however, I will also visit Bangkok on the way back♪ Anyway, I need to get ready for it in a week!

1 year and a half
It has been almost one year and a half since I started working in Japan. I think I have been getting knowledge in the oil and car industries while dealing with the motor oil. I feel I need to be more skillful as a sales person, because the sales figures which I take care of in my department has been going down in recent years.Anyway, I hope this is a good oppotunity to learn something as I am preparing to go to the MBA school in a couple of years.

Arriving in Istanbul
It took about 13 hours from Narita to Istanbul, which got me tired a little bit. I don't know how to access the internet with wireless network, so I borrowed the LAN cable at the lobby. If only I know how to get the wireless network, I can do this in my room. Anyway, I will go sightseeing tomorrow as it's only day I can be free during the stay.

all day meeting
The maker's business development manager came over Japan and visited our office for a meeting. The meeting lasted for about 8 hours. We talked about many things, such as the review in FY2006(fiscal year 2006), the new business strategy against Japanese market in FY2007, marketing support fund and so on.. Anyway, the new target is fixed, so we will just do our best to achieve it!

I met with DIJ over dinner in Omotesando tonight. It's been a long time since we had a trip from Seattle to Vancouver BC together. He is now running his own business in Japan. On the other hand, I am just working for the ordinary company. It seems that it is not easy to succeed as he started the new business himself from scratch.

going to Turkey
I will be away on business for a week next month. I'm going to attend the conference taking place in Istanbul. This is my first time to take a business trip, so I'm kind of excited about it. Lifespan
The lifespan of Japanese men is about 78 years, according to the Japanese reseach. Now that I am going to be 28 years old, I have 50 years left to be dead at the age of 78. In other words, I have lived for about 245,280 hours since I was born and I’m living in the remaining 438,000 hours... No matter whether life is short or not, I shouldn’t waste time.
