Until hubby retires officially, we were going to enjoy stay-cation, but the air quality wasn't good since last month. So we’ve decided to go to Michigan, and left same day.
I love those pets areas at the rest areas on turnpikes.
When Shelagh came to visit grandma from NC, she brought keychain with NC light houses pictures on it. So since then, I figured NC = light houses which led us to this little trip to the light houses. There are different types scattered in coastal NC,
Price's Creek. We were able to find Oak Island one with no problem, but the one at the Price's Creek, we couldn’t even find it using GPS and map! 8/24
I guess we think alike. Before leaving NC, both hubby and I wanted to go to the King’s BBQ for one last time.
Being a coastal state, the seafood here is famous of course. To enjoy our last night here, we've gone to this big fancy restaurant to enjoy the seafood.
Our original plan was to leave NC first of the week, but with Hurricane Irene coming we had to change our plan. The movers were supposed work from Tuesday to Friday, but they have finished one day early for the hurricane. We didn't want evacuate then leave again, so we decided to leave for good. So that decision had made us work through the night and do the miscellaneous errands that we had planned to do over the weekend to get done in the morning. Amazingly we were able to leave Friday afternoon. We gave ourselves are pats on our shoulder for that. Road to freeway was pretty bad with everyone leaving.
