Tether’s collapse could have catastrophic consequences on the whole crypto market
テザーの崩壊は仮想通貨市場全体に壊滅的な結果となる可能性があります。

Critics of Tether have been saying for years that USDT isn’t fully backed and that it doesn’t have enough USD in reserve to cover all of the Tethers in circulation. This means not everybody would be able to convert their USDT into fiat USD.
テザーの批評家は何年もの間、 USDT は完全に裏付けられておらず、流通しているすべてのテザーをカバーするのに十分な米ドルが準備されていないと言ってきました。これは、誰もが USDT を法定通貨に変換できるわけではないことを意味します。

Moreover, on October 14th 2019, Bitfinex — the leading cryptocurrency exchange that is closely associated with Tether — announced that it had lost $850 million dollars and would be using funds from Tether’s reserves to cover the loss.

What’s even more concerning is that Tether’s USDT hasn’t been audited . Since the company is offshore , they are not obliged to provide daily/monthly audits to proof their reserves are fully backed .

But it gets even scarier …

Alameda Reseach (FTX’s partner company) was the biggest user of Tether . They received $36.65 billion worth of USDT (Tether’s current market cap is $60 billion). Many speculate that Alameda is on the brink of collapse, which would be disastrous for Tether and the crypto market as a whole.

Over $5 billion have been converted out of Tether the last week alone

Over the last 7 days, over 5 billion USDT have been sold . This is very unusual during a market crash since one would expect a rise in Tether’s market cap as crypto seller bring their cash in Tether.
過去 7 日間で、 50 億 USDT 以上が販売されました。これは、暗号売り手がテザーに現金を持ち込むため、テザーの時価総額の上昇が予想されるため、市場の暴落時には非常に珍しいことです。

The potential Alameda collapse, brings a lot of panic to USDT which could lead to a run on Tether’s reserves. If such bank run happens, this would lead to widespread panic and could result in billions of dollars being wiped out of the crypto market overnight!

A collapsing Tether would certainly bring Bitcoin below $10k and Ethereum likely below $500 .
