Over the last 30+ years, two new technologies changed everything. The internet changed everything, starting with the introduction of the Netscape browser December 15, 1994. Then the smart phone changed everything again after its release June 29, 2007.

When I saw the I saw the crypto light on June 29th, 2017, I saw the next new technology that was going to change everything.

I published my construct in Oct., 2017, ”7 Thoughts On Crypto After Three Months Down The Rabbit Hole”.

I wrote that for the 1st time in history, we had a tool set to solve for the community, instead of the man in the middle, who ran everything since the beginning of time, and screwed everyone ~100% of the time.

My mind was open to seeing crypto for multiple reasons, including that six months earlier I saw and wrote about “FAMGA” (Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Goole, & Amazon ), and that their ever increasing share of tech market cap was great for them and their shareholders and horrific for the rest of the planet.

And it felt like crypto was in a war with FAMGA, and it felt like Star Wars. Crypto was the Alliance fighting the Death Star for the future of humanity.

Every year I look back to reflect on the last year. How has my outlook changed and what’s stayed the same. My post for my 8th anniversary was “7 Lessons Learned Over My 8 Year Journey To Becoming a Bitcoin Maxi.”

Over the last nine years, the world has both changed dramatically, and stayed the same. What stayed the same was the unrelenting capture of tech market cap by FAMGAN (I added Nvidia to the mix a few years back).
この9年間で、世界は劇的に変わった部分もあれば、まったく変わらない部分もあった。変わらなかったのは、FAMGAN（数年前にNvidiaを追加した）によるテック時価総額の容赦ない独占である。

The biggest change happened November 30, 2022, when OpenAI released ChatGPT 3.5, and the world became aware that there was another technology that was going to change EVERYTHING. And AI agents appear to be the way that most of us will interact with AI most of the time.
最大の変化が起きたのは2022年11月30日、OpenAIがChatGPT 3.5をリリースし、すべてをまた変えてしまう「もう一つのテクノロジー」が存在することに世界が気づいた時だった。そして、「AIエージェント」は私たちの大半が、大半の時間をAIとやり取りする手段になるだろうと思われる。
The last year has seen massive progress across the crypto landscape. But Bitcoin is down 45% since its peak last October, and the majority of tokens are down dramatically more than that. The pundits have a never-ending stream of conjectures about why the market has gotten crushed.

With that context, here are my nine thoughts on the current state and future outlook for crypto.
このような背景を踏まえた上で、暗号資産の現状と今後の見通しに関する、私の9つの考えをここに紹介する。

1. Everyone Has an Opinion About What the Problem in Crypto Is, And Almost All of Them are Wrong

Here’s a great example of a horrific take (sorry Jake Brukhman) on what’s wrong:

I obviously appreciate where Jake is coming from. But our industry was built by titans like ARK Invest’s Cathie Wood, Polychain Capital’s Olaf Carlson-Wee, and Galaxy Digital’s Michael Novogratz. I might not always agree with everything they say or every tatoo they get, but each of them has worked for 10+ years to build our industry, and everyone in the industry is a beneficiary of their work.

Trump is not the problem (although he’s not helping). OG’s selling is not the problem. The Ethereum Foundations Manifesto is not the problem.

2. Building Things, Particularly New Industries That Change the World, Is Really Hard

IMHO, the best business book of all time is “The Hard Thing About Hard Things”. It’s 300 pages of stories highlighting how hard it is for everyone all the time.

3. The Government Is Not Our Friend & Tomorrow’s It’s Going to Be Worse

I applaud the good work by Coin Center and others fighting for the industry in D.C. But for 99%+ of us, time spent thinking about the government has a negative ROI. So, I keep my mindshare on government to the two simple beliefs above. As a construct, it’s worked remarkably well. This is not new.

4. The Combination of AI & Crypto Has Created This Moment Where We’re on The Verge of Epic Change

Just like the internet changed everything, and smartphones changed everything, the combination of AI & crypto is poised to change everything once again.

After 20+ years of growing domination by FAMGAN, there is now a chance for new paradigms to emerge. Facebook created social media when they introduced the newsfeed, which now dominates communication.

What the new paradigm will be, nobody knows. But what I do know is now is the time to be building. Now is the time to be testing and learning. The winners of tomorrow are heads down building today.
新しいパラダイムがどのようなものになるかは、誰にもわからない。しかし、私が確信しているのは、「今こそが構築すべき時だ」ということだ。今はテストし、学ぶ時なのだ。明日の勝者たちは、今日、黙々と開発に取り組んでいる。
