After S.L.T. made their debut in 1988 , they went through hardship until they rose in popularity gradually.
Back then, they were appreciated highly by musicians they worked together, such as Jeff Porcaro and Nethern East .
On the other hand, until they released their third album, their image among the general public was dexterous artisans of pops, and their music was thought to be esoteric.
But in recording their 4th album, they made a big change.

They decided that it would be necessary to enjoy themselves first of all, and to be frank with what they want to express.
This resolution might be hidden in " Do What U want 2 do 4 Luv ".
The title is " 0 "; they made a fresh start from "0".
It leads " love "; there is "love" between a man and a woman -which they express with " Ai to ierumade " (until we can call it love) ,
And in family, local community, and all over the world.
As a result, this album became a frank and candid work
They went into the fumbling period again from their 7th album " Togetherness ", though.

One of the songs made them rise in popularity was " Steps of Love " released as single.
Above all, not only themselves but also fans realized the power of music from " La La La
With African beat, this song expresses concerns about environmental disruption, encouraging listners to think what we can do .
There is an inside story:
This album including "La La La" was recorded in Los Angels in 1991 .
This song includes lyrics saying " stop fighting ".
When they were recording Chikuzen Satou 's lead vocals of this song, Gulf War broke out .
Ten years later, in 2001 , terrorist attack in the U.S.
In this year, they made a release of 10th album " Metabolism ".
They performed this song with only three of them on concert tour.
Another ten years later, in 2011 , a massive earthquake destroyed vast area of eastern Japan.
At that time, this song was put on the air on the radio again and again.
S.L.T. distributed a charity song " Luz " recorded with percussionists from Senegal.
In this April, they held their 25th anniversary concerts in Osaka and Tokyo; " Amusement Pocket 25/50 "
Percussionists from Senegal and Mali appeared as secret guests and performed " Luz " and " La La La " together, showing genuine power of music and a strong impression.
