1. Late "Happy New Year" -I suppose all of us have already returned to daily lives, though.
This year, new Emperor is acceding to the throne, and Imperial Era name is changing on May 1 .
In association with that, current Emperor's birthday is abolished from this year.
It doesn't matter; too many national holidays are unnecessary.
the explanation by Authority is concern about dual power .
Putting aside how many general public have appreciated current Emperor's birthday December 23 as pre-Christmas celebration holiday,
I cannot help wondering why April 29 , former Emperor's birthday, is still national holiday, changing its name even twice.
On the second thought... this national holiday could be still becoming to our country,
As long as this society is ruled by moss-headed older generation men unable to get rid of illusion of glittering bubble era and anachronistic male-chauvinism.
What if we call this year 2019 A.D. not 31st and final year of current Imperial Era but 94th year of former Imperial Era ?

People currently classified as elderly people and baby-boomers are estimated to live such long lives -may I construe so?
Current younger generation suffer from exploitation and poverty, and might live shorter lives compared to the current elderly people and baby-boomers.
What makes me think such way? Mainly because-
