AIS eagles 2003-2004

☆Profile of the team members☆

Hirohisa Arita ♯1
Arita was the captain of the AIS team that went all the way to the finals in the season of 2003-2004. Although his personality is very wild and active, when it comes to the real game, he will really take on the responsibility of being a captain. He, along with Brian and Mr. Benton, makes sure that everyone is ready for the game (mentally and physically). Besides that, he also has good goalkeeping skills especially in long ranged shots. His fast reflexes and responses have helped the team march the way to the finals. He is also the most experienced player on the team. Every member has learned a lot from him this year.

Defender
Tim Chow ♯3
He is a defending genius. With his fast speed and accurate sliding, it was very hard for the opponents to even take a shot. He was also the player who improved the most on the team. He even managed to save a goal right before the ball went past the white line.

Ocean Choy ♯16
He is the only Singaporean on our team. He is the other center back. He has good body balance which allows him to easily take and clear the ball from the opposing attackers. He often sacrifices himself for the team. His only bad point is that he fouls too much.

Ji Suk Kim ♯7
Controls defense line and commanding center back. He is always accurate on setting the offside trap which created a lot of chances for the players up front to attack. Being the oldest on the team, he is a highly respected player and person. Everybody feels very comfortable playing alongside him. He is a very stable and serious player, but off the pitch, he is one of the main jokers.

Jinichi Leung ♯5
He is the only player who doesn't know how to use their legs. Even though this is an disadvantage, he has another advantage over every single player on our team. He is the best header. He doesn't only head the ball for clearance, but he also heads the ball during our counter attack.

Midfielder
Harry Kang ♯8
As our defensive midfielder, his job is to support the four defenders. With his long legs, he manages to steal the ball from the opponents before they can get in the penalty box. Even though he is only a defensive midfielder, he is also talented in dribbling. He often dribbles over a few players before passing the ball to his teammate in an opened space.

Gary Wong ♯14
As the AIS right winger, his speed is just unstoppable. Besides that, he also has great stamina. He manages to run up and down the pitch for the full 70 minutes that we play each game. Although he was a midfielder, he played more like a 5th defender this year. His partnership with Tim worked really well in stopping attackers moving from the left side of the pitch. Their combination together has made the opponents' overall offense weaker. Due to his hardwork this year on the team, he has also been selected to the Hong Kong Under 18 Team.

Brian Kho ♯11
He was the vice captain of AIS for the season of 2003-2004. He really loves and enjoys the game of soccer. He has always been trusted and respected. He always has brilliant ideas of different tactics that could be used in our games. He always takes care of the players on the team. He takes soccer very seriously. When he wins a match, he becomes filled with joy, but on the otherhand, if he loses a match, he can burst out in tears. On the field, his passes into opened spaces allow his teammates to put the ball in the back of the net in a relaxed manner. His crosses and long passes are very accurate, creating chances for counter attacks. His dribbling also creates open spaces for other teammates to run into before passing the ball to them.

Gordon Chung ♯10
Out of the starting 11, he is the youngest out of us all. When he was in elementary school, he was the captain of La Salle, a band one school in Hong Kong with impressive sports records as well. He is the playmaker of our team. Even though he is not as big as the other players, he doesn't fear anybody on the pitch regardless on their size. He is always getting into tackles and one of the most aggressive players on the team. He is one of the best players in ball controlling. He is like performing magic with the ball. Whenever he dribbles, the ball always stays close to his feet. It never leaves his feet. If he loses the ball, he continues chasing after the ball. Off the pitch, he is the young and cute Gordon that we all know but on the pitch, he turns into a very serious and aggressive player.

Forward
Hiroyasu Chih ♯9
Hiro is known as the "turbo" of our school. He doesn't only have speed. He has power and stamina. He is talented in every part of soccer. He is a top striker. He doesn't need to touch the ball a lot, but if he touches the ball, that means that the ball will be going into the back of the net. He has been the Golden Boot for two consecutive years, scoring 6 goals in the first season and 12 in the second.

John Lee ♯15
He is the "shotgun" of our team. He possesses power in his shots. He also has a great physical body which allows him to be on top of players while jumping for a header or chasing after a loose ball. Hos body has earned him goals not only by shooting, but also heading. On the pitch, he always tries his best to raise the team spirit. He would always shout on the pitch to try to make us stay focused during the game. The partnership of John and Hiro has worked really well this year. They have scored a total of 21 goals.

Manager
Lin Zi
She has been the manager of the soccer team for two years. Even though she started off not knowing about this sport, she has learned more about this sport as the seasons had gone by. She really took care of all the players and making sure that the injuries we suffered wouldn't last long.

Tae Yun Kim
This is her first year of being the manager. She became the manager because of our past player. She has been really dedicated to the team. She always provided us with everything we needed whether it was water or cold sprays. She always gave the players a warm feeling inside due to the love she showed for the team.long.

Mr. Benton
Our coach is from Newcastle, England. He was always the person who understanded the players most. He would also spend most of his time explaining different theories of soccer as well as expressing his own tactics of how we should play. He really takes care of the players as if we were his own son. He always tries his best to make the team's morale rise to the top. In school, he is also a well respected teacher.
