Somebody asked me a question about their 14 year old son who often bleeds from nose, even when he is sitting in the class room in the school. I replied to them, and thought I will share the same with you.
The Ayurvedic term for bleeding disorders is "raktapitta'. Bleeding with stools, bleeding from nose, excessive bleeding during menstruation, or bleeding from any other part of the body without injury can be considered to be 'raktapitta'.
According to Ayurveda this is a pitta problem, which means too much heat in the body. Often people suffering from bleeding disorders complain that whenever they eat hot and spicy food, the bleeding starts. So if you are suffering from 'raktapitta' immediately stop all pitta foods - hot spices, chilies, black tea, coffee, alcohol, dry fruits, nuts, junk food, food containing preservatives, fried food, non-vegetarian foods (meat, chicken, fish), eggs, yogurt or any other heating or sour foods.
Eat lots of cucumbers, water melon, coconut, drink lots of water and coconut water and eat alkaline foods like green leafy vegetables and salads. Amala powder or tablets can be taken. Fresh green grass juice 30 to 40 ml. twice a day helps to stop bleeding. To stop nose bleeding instantly put 2-3 drops of marigold flower juice in each nose.
