I had an English lesson today.
My teacher asked me some hard questions.
Some of them are as below.
What is “Giri-ninjo”?
Do you think “Bushi-do” still exists somehow in Japan?
By the way, what is “Bushi-do”?
I want to ask you if you can explain what “Giri-ninjo” or “Bushi-do” is in English.
I’m not sure if I can explain them, even in Japanese!
But I found it very interesting, and I thought I had more answers than I expected.
The thing that my teacher interested most was how to name babies.
Take a Chinese character from baby’s father, mother, grandfather or grandmother.
Use a name dictionary.
Ask fortune tellers.
Ask monks or priests.
Take from royal families.
I told him about the meaning of my name. He seemed quite interested in the meaning of Chinese characters as well as the meaning of Chinese character’s stroke.
And he said it was quite unique way to name babies.
I almost forgot to write what I wanted to ask to Luc Besson was.
One of my schoolmates asked one question from a movie “Leon” to our teacher yesterday.
Leon was dead with Stan in the morning or afternoon. Then Mathilda left the building and got on a ropeway in the evening. She got to her school in the morning and was interviewed by schoolmaster. She said “I was with a hit man and he died THIS MORNING”.
You see? Leon died the day before Mathilda had an interview with schoolmaster, so it can’t be “THIS MORNING”.
I haven’t notice it before she pointed it out. I suppose nobody had noticed it!
If you see Luc Besson (and if you are brave), please ask him about it!
