The first half of national Anthem of South Africa share the same very beautiful melody of national anthem of Tanzania and Zimbabwe, which was composed by Mr.Sontoga. The melody was sang by many African people in their own languages hoping for their independence. During apartheid era, it was even banned to sing in South Africa. The latter half of the national anthem of South Africa uses the obsolete melody of old national anthem in apartheid’s era, which was composed by an Afrikaans( white people). In 1994, Nelson Mandela ordered to combine two melodies to symbolize the national reconciliation. The song start with G Major changes the key to D Major when it comes to Afrikaans melody. In my opinion, it is a good combination and gives a patriotic effect. But whenever listen to the music, l always have feelings of desire to return to the original key. Am I wrong that I compere the national anthem to the social situation of South Africa? ------------------- 終わり --------------
