The silent treatment is when teammates ignore a player who hits a home run, then give a big congratulations afterwards.

At the time, 23-year-old Shohei Otani was with the Angels and hit a three-run home run, his first in the major leagues.
However, when he returned to the bench, his teammates ignored him, expecting to be congratulated.

This is a sort of ritual or custom called the "silent treatment" in major league baseball. It means "to act in a cold and distant manner." It involves intentionally ignoring a player who hits his first home run, and then giving a rough congratulations.
