１： After this, Job ヨブは生まれた日をのろう ２カッコーの巣
After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth. He said: “ May the day of my birth perish, and the night it was said, ‘A boy is born!’ Job 3:1~3 So these three men stopped answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes. But Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became very angry with Job for justifying himself rather than God. He was also angry with the three friends, because they had found no way to refute Job, and yet had condemned him. Job 32:1~3 For God does speak-now one way, now another-though man may not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride, to preserve his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword. In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. Job 1:22 So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. Job 2:7 His wife said to him, “ Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!” He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said. When Job’s three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathise with him and comfort him.When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him; they began to weep aloud, and they tore their robs and sprinkled dust on their heads. Job 2:9~12ヨブはこのようになっても罪を犯さず、神に愚痴をこぼさなかった。 ヨブ １：２２サタンは主の前から出て行き、ヨブの足の裏から頭の頂まで、悪性の腫物で彼を打った。 ヨブ ２：７すると彼の妻が彼に言った。「それでもなお、あなたは自分の誠実を堅く保つのですか。神をのろって死になさい。」しかし、彼は彼女に言った。「あなたは愚かな女が言うようなことを言っている。私たちは幸いを神から受けるのだから、わざわいをも受けなければならないではないか。」ヨブはこのようになっても、罪を犯すようなことを口にしなかった。そのうちに、ヨブの三人の友は、ヨブに降りかかったこのすべてのわざわいのことを聞き、そろぞれ自分の所からたずねて来た。すなわち、テマン人エリファズ、シュアハ人ビルダデ、ナアマ人ツォファルである。彼らはヨブに悔やみを言って慰めようと互いに打ち合わせて来た。彼らは遠くから目を上げて彼を見たが、それがヨブであることが見分けられないほどだった。彼らは声をあげて泣き、おのおの、自分の上着を引き裂き、ちりを天に向かって投げ、自分の頭の上にまき散らした。 ヨブ ２：９～１２

The Lord said to Satan, “ Very well, then everything he has is in your hands but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord. One day when Job’s sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, a messenger came to Job and said, “ The oxen were ploughing and the donkeys were gazing neaby, and the Sabeans attacked and carried them off. They put the servants the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!” While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “ The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!” While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “ The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and carried them off. They put the sevants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you !” While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, “ Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, when suddenly mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and Upright; he feared God and shunned evil. He had seven sons and three daughters, and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was greatest man among all the people of the East. Then Harbona, one of the eunuchs attending the king, said “ A gallows seventy-five feet high stands by Haman’s house. He had it made fore Mordecai, who spoke up to help the king.” The king said, “ Hang him on it!” So they hanged Haman on the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king's fury subsided. Esther 7:9,10 And all his acts of power and might, together with a full account of the greatness of Mordecai to which the king had raised him, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Media and Persia? Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Xerxes, pre-eminent among the Jews, and held in high esteem by his many fellow, Jews, because he worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare lf all the Jews. When Haman entered, the king asked him, “What should be done for the man the king delights to honour?” Now Haman thought to himself, “Who is there that the king would rather honour than me?” So he answered the king, “ For the man the king delights to honour, have them bring a royal robe the king has worn and a horse the king has ridden, one with a royal crest placed on its head. Esther 6:6~8 “ Go at once,” the king commanded Haman. “ Get the robe and the horse and do just as you have suggested for Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king’s gate. Do not neglect anything you have recommended.” So Haman got the robe and the horse. He robed Mordecai, and led him on horseback through the city streets, proclaiming before him, “This is what is done for the man the king delights to honour!” Esther 6:10,11ハマンがはいって来たので、王は彼に言った。「王が栄誉を与えたいと思う者には、どうしたらよかろう。」そのとき、ハマンは心のうちで思った。「王が栄誉を与えたいと思われる者は、私以外にだれがあろう。」そこでハマンは王に言った。「王が栄誉を与えたいと思われる人のためには、王が着ておられる王服を持って来させ、また、王の乗られた馬を、その頭に王冠をつけて引いて来させてください。 エステル ６：６～８すると、王はハマンに言った。「あなたが言ったとおりに、すぐ王服と馬を取って来て、王の門のところにすわっているユダヤ人モデルカイにそうしなさい。あなたの言ったことを一つもたがえてはならない。」それで、ハマンは王服と馬を取って来てモデルカイに着せ、彼を馬に乗せて町の広場に導き、その前で「王が栄誉を与えたいと思われる人はこのとおりである。」と叫んだ。 エステル ６：１０，１１

１：“Go, gather together モデルカイを殺そうとする ２：カッコーの巣
“Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:16 But all this gives me no satisfaction as long as I see that Jew Modercai sitting at the king’s gate.” His wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him, “ Have a gallows built, seventy-five feet high, and ask the king in the morning to have Modercai hanged on it. Then go with the king to the dinner and be happy.” This suggestion delighted Haman, and he had the gallows built. Esther5:13,14 That night the king could not sleep; so he ordered the book of the chronicles, the record of his reign, to be brought in and read to him. It was found recorded there that Mordecai had exposed Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, who had conspired to assassinate King Xerxes. “ What honour and recognition has Mordecai received for this?” “ Nothing has been done for him,” his attendants answered. If it pleases the king, let a decree be issued to destroy them, and I will put ten thousand talents of silver into the royal treasury for the men who carry out this business.”So the king took his signet ring from his finger and gave it to Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of the Jews. “ Keep the money,” the king said to Haman, “ and do with the people as you please.” Esther 3:9~11 When Ester’s maids and eunuchs came and told her about Mordecai, she was in great distress. She sent clothes for him to put on instead of his sackcloth, but he would not accept them. Esther 4:4 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. Now the king was attracted to Ester more than to any of the other women, and she won his favour and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. Esther 2:17 After these events, King Xerxes honoured Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, elevating him and giving him a seat of honour higher than that of all the other nobles. All the royal officials at the king’s gate knelt down and paid honour to Haman, for the king had commanded this concerning him. But Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honour. Esther 3:1,2 When Haman saw that Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honour, he was enraged. Yet having learned who Mordecai’s people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai’s people, the Jews, throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes. 1： Mordecai had a cousin エステルは王宮に ２：ペンションカッコーの巣
Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. This girl, who was also known as Esther, was lovely in form and features, and Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died. When the king’s order and edict had been proclaimed, many girls were brought to the citadel of Susa and put under the care of Hegai. Ester also was taken to the king’s palace and entrusted to Hegai, who had charge of the harem. The girl pleased him and won his favour. Immediately he provided her beauty treatments and special food. He assigned to her seven maids selected from the king’s palace and moved her and her maids into the best place in the harem. Ester had not revealed her nationality and family background, because Mordecai had forbidden her to do so. Esther 2:7~10モルデカイはおじの娘ハダサ、すなわち、エステルを養育していた。彼女には父も母もいなかったからである。このおとめは、姿も顔だちも美しかった。彼女の父と母が死んだとき、モルデカイは彼女を引き取って自分の娘としたのである。王の命令、すなわちその法令が伝えられて、多くのおとめたちが、シュシャンの城に集められ、ヘガイの管理のもとに置かれたとき、エステルも王宮に連れて行かれて、女たちの監督官ヘガイの管理のもとに置かれた。このおとめは、ヘガイの心にかない、彼の好意を得た。そこで、彼は急いで化粧に必要な品々とごちそうを彼女に与え、また王宮から選ばれた七人の侍女を彼女にあてがった。そして、ヘガイは彼女とその侍女たちを、婦人部屋の最も良い所に移した。エステルは自分の民族をも、自分の生まれをも明かさなかった。モルデカイが、明かしてはならないと彼女に命じておいたからである。 エステル ２：７～１０

１：On the seventh day 王妃ワシュティが王の言うことを聞かない ２：オーナーの家族
On the seventh day, when King Xerxes was in high spirits from wine, he commanded the seven eunuchs who serverd him-Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar and Carcas- to bring before him Queen Vashti, wearing her royal crown, in order to display her beauty to the people and nobles, for she was lovely to look at. But when the attendants delivered the king’s command, Queen Vashti refused to come. Then king became furious and burned with anger. Esther 1:10~12 “Therefore, if it pleases the king, let him issue a royal decree and let it be written in the laws of Persia and Media, which cannot be repealed, that Vashti is never again to enter the presence of King Xerxes. Also let the king give her royal position to someone else who is better than she. Then when the king’s edict is proclaimed throughout all his vast realm, all the women will respect their husbands, from the least to the greatest.” Esther 1:19,20七日目に、王は酒で心が陽気になり、アハシュエロス王に仕える七人の宦官メフマン、ビゼタ、ハルボナ、ビグタ、アバグタ、ゼタル、カルカスに命じて、王妃ワシュティに王冠をかぶらせ、彼女を王の前に連れて来るようにと言った。それは、彼女の容姿が美しかったので、その美しさを民と首長たちに見せるためであった。しかし、王妃ワシュティが宦官から伝えられた王の命令を拒んで来ようとしなかったので、王は非常に怒り、その憤りが彼のうちで燃え立った。 エステル １：１０～１２もしも王によろしければ、ワシュティはアハシュエロス王の前に出てはならないという勅令をご自身で出し、ペルシャとメディヤの法令の中に書き入れて、変更することのないようにし、王は王妃の位を彼女よりもすぐれた婦人に授けてください。王が出される詔勅が、この大きな王国の隅々まで告げ知らされると、女たちは、身分の高い者から低い者に至るまでみな、自分の夫を尊敬するようになりましょう。」 エステル １：１９，２０

And Elisha prayed, “ O Lord, open his eyes so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all round Elisha. As the enemy came down towards him. Elisha prayed to the Lord, “ Strike these people with blindness,” So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked. 2 Kings 6:17,18 In the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab king of Israel, when Jehoshaphat was king of Judah, Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat began his reign as king of JudahHe was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem for eight years. He walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done. He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. Nevertheless, for the sake of his servant David, the Lord was not willing to destroy Judah. Elisha sent a messenger 信じると奇跡が起こる ２：カワセミ
Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “ Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and your will be cleansed.” But Naaman went away angry and said, “ I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than any of the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went offin a rage. Naaman’s servants went to him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? But this word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God: “Say to Rehoboam son of Solomon king of Judah, to the whole house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the rest of the people, ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not go up to fight against your brothers, the Israelites. Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command.So the Lord said to Solomon, “ Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates. The next morning, I got up to nurse my son-and he was dead! But when I looked at him closely in the morning light, I saw that it wasn’t the son I had born.” The other woman said, “ No! The living one is my son; the dead one is yours.” But the first one insisted, “No! The dead one is yours; the living one is mine.” And so they argued before the king. 1 Kings 3:21,22 He then gave an order: “ Cut the living child in two and give half to one and half to the other.” The woman whose son was alive was filled compassion for her son and said to the king, “ Please, my lord, give her the living baby! Don’t kill him!” But the other said, “ Neither I nor you shall have him. Cut him in two!! Then the king gave his ruling: “ Give the living baby to the first woman. And Ishbe-Benob, once of the descendants of Rapha, whose bronze speahead weighed three hundred shekels(2499g) and who was armed with a new sward said he would kill David. But Abishai son Zeruiah came to David's rescue; he strck the Philistine down and killed him.
