My husband and I had gone to his parent's home in Kansai district from the end of last year to the New Year.
I knew that there is a difference of food culture between Kanto district and Kansai district then. What kind of meat do you usually use if you make potatoes boiled with meat? I will use mostly pork. But my mother-in-law will use mostly beef. It is interesting to know such a difference.
Hello! You use pork when you make nikujaga, don’t you. This is my first time to hear it. I use beef. I think using beef is popular. Is it true? (2006.01.07 06:47:02)
Really? My mother usually makes nikujyaga with beef. How about zoni? Does your mother-in-law use miso-soup for it? I have never eaten it with miso-soup. So I have it with clear soup!

Akinoさん Hello. I thought that using pork is popular in Kanto district. But maybe I'm wrong. It seems to have been common sense of my home that used pork.

muffin04さん Hello. My mother-in-law makes zoni with white-miso-soup on January 1. And She makes it with clear soup on January 2. They are delicious. I prefer clear soup to miso-soup. Because my mother had made zoni with clear soup.
