15-1 Now we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. わたしたち強い者は、強くない者たちの弱さをになうべきであって、自分だけを喜ばせることをしてはならない。
15-2 Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, unto edifying. わたしたちひとりびとりは、隣り人の徳を高めるために、その益を図って彼らを喜ばすべきである。
15-3 For Christ also pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell upon me. キリストさえ、ご自身を喜ばせることはなさらなかった。むしろ「あなたをそしる者のそしりが、わたしに降りかかった」と書いてあるとおりであった。
15-4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope. これまでに書かれた事がらは、すべてわたしたちの教のために書かれたのであって、それは聖書の与える忍耐と慰めとによって、望みをいだかせるためである。
15-5 Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus: どうか、忍耐と慰めとの神が、あなたがたに、キリスト・イエスにならって互に同じ思いをいだかせ、
15-6 that with one accord ye may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. こうして、心を一つにし、声を合わせて、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストの父なる神をあがめさせて下さるように。
15-8 For I say that Christ hath been made a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the promises given unto the fathers, わたしは言う、キリストは神の真実を明らかにするために、割礼のある者の僕となられた。それは父祖たちの受けた約束を保証すると共に、
15-9 and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written,Therefore will I give praise unto thee among the Gentiles,And sing unto thy name. 異邦人もあわれみを受けて神をあがめるようになるためである、「それゆえ、わたしは、異邦人の中であなたにさんびをささげ、また、御名をほめ歌う」と書いてあるとおりである。
15-10 And again he saith,Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. また、こう言っている、「異邦人よ、主の民と共に喜べ」。
15-11 And again,Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles;And let all the peoples praise him. また、「すべての異邦人よ、主をほめまつれ。もろもろの民よ、主をほめたたえよ」。
15-12 And again, Isaiah saith,There shall be the root of Jesse,And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles;On him shall the Gentiles hope. またイザヤは言っている、「エッサイの根から芽が出て、異邦人を治めるために立ち上がる者が来る。異邦人は彼に望みをおくであろう」。
15-13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit. どうか、望みの神が、信仰から来るあらゆる喜びと平安とを、あなたがたに満たし、聖霊の力によって、あなたがたを、望みにあふれさせて下さるように。
