今日は敬老の日。hiroroの祖父母はすでに他界しており、私も母方の祖母以外の祖父母はすでに他界しています。だから、私達にとってのおばあちゃんはこの母方の祖母、一人。現在、86歳のばあちゃんは私の地元の一等地のマンションで悠々自適のお気楽シルバーライフを謳歌しています。80歳まで田舎で食堂を切り盛りしていただけあって、心身共に元気いっぱい！去年の秋、孫娘夫婦を訪ねて韓国へも遊びにきました。このばあちゃんの健康の秘訣は足腰を鍛える為の朝夕のウォーキング。私が知る限りでもよっぽど悪天候ではない限り、怠らないというところがすごい！なので、今年の敬老の日のプレゼントはお散歩用のかわいい帽子。最近の帽子はすごいです。形状記憶であると同時に洗濯ネットに入れたら洗濯機でも洗濯できるらしい。毎日、この帽子をかぶって散歩をしてくれたらうれしいなと思うと同時にいつまでも憎まれ口を叩き合えるくらい元気なばあちゃんでいて欲しいと願っています。

Today is "Coming of Age Day". hiroro's grandparents had already passed away and there is my grandma(on my mom's side) is the only one left for me,too. So for both of us, this is onle grandma, we have left. My grandma is 86 years old and she lives by herself in a mansion located on the best part of my hometown. She is enjoying her carefree elderly life. Because she had been working in her restaurant in the country side until she was 80 years old, she is healthy and well both mentally and physically. Last fall, she visited us in Korea,too. Her secret of maintaining her health is walking every morning and every evening. She had been continuing this everyday for all I can remember unless the weather is bad. So this year's present for Coming of Age Day was a hat for her walking. Hats nowadays are great in many ways. It not only remembers its shape, but you can wash it in the washing machine if you put it in the washing net. We hope she walks with this hat on everyday. We also hope that she will stay well and live long,too!
