Yesterday evening, while hiroro was off to his business meeting, I had a little reunion with my old friend. She and I used to work together when we were in college. During my 4 years in college, I had a part-time job at one of the big bookstores in Tokyo. I decided to go out for this job for 2 simple reasons. One was that I loved books very much and I heard that I can get some dicount if I worked there. The other reason was that I would be able to read the latest books first in the store. And because the bookstore had a strict atmosphere, the college students who worked there had serious attitudes and were relatively normal, too. My friend that I met was already married and a housewife. But when we start talking, nothing much had changed and it brings us back to our days working together. After we talked over cups of coffee, we decided to stop by at the bookstore where we both used to work because I also wanted to look for some books on animal therapy and social psychology. We found an employment ad by the bookstore. We both laughed bitterly that a college part-timer's wage had been raised ¥125 than when we were working. Anyways, I was very satisfied to be able to find and buy my books. When I was buying my books, we both looked at each other again and laughed bitterly at what we,too had been doing as a part-timer at the bookstore. We probably used to look like these girls, too. Although we had laughed bitterly alot, we enjoyed our reunion. This month, there are more reunions to come! I'm looking forward to my reunion with my childhood friend that I reunited recently through the net and my ex-boss, who had been my mentor in the world of business from a woman's point of view. I'm really looking forward to seeing them!
